New free dining offer yeaaah

Any thoughts on why the week of November 6 would be excluded? I was planning on going that week. AM actually going to use an AP rate so I don;t need free dining but am wondering that maybe something big is going on that week? It's not pop warner or anything is it? allears shows attendance as low for that week. just changed to November after I found out the week I was going to go in early March is apparently a major spring break week. Am I clueless to something occuring November 6 week?

I think that's still part of Food and Wine Festival.

There may not be a link, and I truly do hope this works for everyone, but the CM I talked to saidthat the reservation may not be honored if it even goes all the way through.
Where on that page does it say offer only good for outside of the USA? The bottom of the page has a list of the dates and it includes the Aug-Sept 2012 dates with no "requirements" listed.

I don't understand?:confused3:confused3

Well my planner emailed that she was trying at 11:30 and it is almost 4:30 now, makes me think I couldn't get the FD. :sad1: Oh well such is life.

Thanks for all the info Danny.

hang in there!

I know my TA (Small World) was working on ALL of hers today and my original room-only 7-day reservation is now gone from my disney reservations so it's probably done. I haven't received email from her yet with the new Res. # but I'm confident that i will get it. All ADRs are done but still can't get O'Hana for any date 11/28 - 12/3 between 5pm opening and 9pm. Oh well.

But free dining is offered some dates in Oct. and that is during F & W. Week of Nov. 6 is Veteran's Day but I don't see that being a reason for a black out week? But who knows since Columbus Day week is blacked out.

Jersey Week-All NJ schools are closed on November 10th and 11th that Thursday and Friday plus November 11th is Veterans Day and the 8th is Election Day and some schools close for these 2 holidays.

Yeah I don't actually know, that was just my best guess :rotfl: But they may be having more traffic because of another event, plus F&W so who even knows.

edit: D'oh I forgot about Jersey Week!

I've seen this posted several times and feel like I'm the only one that has a problem with using false pretenses to book a trip. I'm not Canadian, therefore I should not be using the link to book. Sept. is when we REALLY want to go, but we will either have to change our plans or hold out until the offer is listed for US residents.

Does it say somewhere that it's only for ppl. in Canada? I just clicked on the link provided by the pp., and didn't see anything. They even ask you what country you're from for shipping and billing and I put U.S. without any issues. I guess I can ask when I call to change our shipping address to our new one (I missed that somehow.)

So exactly how busy will Jersey week be? We are only off 11/8 for a furlough day

Busier than say the week before that or the first 2 weeks in December but not as busy as July, Christmas, or Easter. Jersey is only 1 state after all and it's not like every Jersey resident goes to Disney although it does seem to get more and more popular each year.

Thanks for the cheer up.

I just happened to go on facebook and was talking about how busy the phones were and was told that my planner's internet is down and she will be in touch with me to let me know one way or other. I don't see a change to my reservation but if her internet is down I might not.

So right now I am straddling the line of whether to be happy or sad, lol.

It's also Jersey week. Schools are closed Thurs & Fri so parents tend to take their kids out the other three days and some leave Wed for a long weekend trip. I went last year during Jersey week and found it to be fine. Then again, crowds don't bother me & the family. We just say It's all part of the experience wherever we go.:)

OK Danny25 - can you make those of us that were blacked out of FD happy with a GP room only offer coming out soon? ;)

Congrats to all of those that are doing the FD happy dance!

When you call will you please post and let us know what they say? Thank you.

I went in this morning and just booked another trip to make sure I got the free dining and then a few hours later when things calmed down, I called and canceled my original reservation. So, we're set with free dining. Oddly, I had a 35% off code for Pop Century when I booked the first time. When I added free dining (and therefore lost the 35% off code) my total only went up by $115. Oh well.

:confused3
Yes. I did this last year and am doing it again. I have 2 nt room only at AKL Sep 27-29...then 7 nts FD at the cabins. I will pick up my FD park tickets early on the 27th (rule is up to 3 days) at any GR booth in DTD or front of parks to use immediately.

Even though I'm booked 7 nts FD, I can purchase up to 10 days worth of park tickets to compensate the extra days.

I was just told about 20 minutes ago that I could not do this, as I wanted to pick my tickets up 3 days early since I have a room only reservation and then the package for the FD. It is much cheaper if I put my 8 day ticket on the FD reservation versus having to split it up, but I was told it is only 24 hours in advance now that you can get the tickets. :confused3

I just wanted to thank danny25 for the heads up! And also thanks to all that took the time out to ansewer so many questions. :cheer2:

I called earlier today at 7am and was disconnected. On my second attempt I was somehow put through disney dining reservations...which thankfully transferred me over and 10 minutes later I was on the phone with a cm and making my reservations!! yay:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Only able to get in for 3 days of free dining which is better than no days..lol

My two hour journey on the phone today with Disney was worth it. I had booked POFQ for Nov 2-9 and it was paid in full, on hold for over 1.5 hours, finally got an agent, upgraded to AKL pool view with free dining for only $300.00 more. My hubby is a deluxe snob, so this makes him very happy !! :yay::woohoo::yay:

I've called and chatted online with them several times today and it seems like it is only Canadian. Please let me know if you are told differently.

I was told you will have to produce your Canadian passport/ID at check in for proof of residency. This is not on disney.com it is on disney.ca. Just like we cannot book the UK offers.
