New free dining offer yeaaah

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I thought that was the case, but wanted someone with more knowledge to confirm ;)

Yes, you have to pay to upgrade a child from Basic Dining to Deluxe Dining. You just subtract the difference between the plans to see how much it is. It's about $33.00 per adult to upgrade to the Deluxe.

Quick Service Dining Plan
Adults (Ages 10+) : $34.99 per day
Children: (Ages 3-9): $ 11.99 per day

Disney Dining Plan
Adults (Ages 10+) : $45.99 per day (regular season) / $47.99 (peak season)
Children: (Ages 3-9): $11.99 per day (regular season / $12.99 (peak season)

Disney Deluxe Dining Plan
Adults (Ages 10+) : $78.99 per day
Children: (Ages 3-9): $21.99 per day

We will be at Disney 11/12 -11/19. If I do a room only for the 12th, how early on the 13th can I check in? We have an ADR at Tusker House at 8:00. Would I be able to do online check in for both reservations? Do you think that would save any time? Ug. This would be easier if we were traveling 13-20.

Thanks.

I'd be happy if it does come out. However, I can say with certainty that if it did, those are not the codes.

pardon my ignorance but...if someone books a trip oct 22-30 (one of the time periods mentioned by the OP was oct. 23 - nov. 5) why do they have to book a room only for one night on the 22nd? and then begin the package on oct. 23-30? I understand the offer is from Oct. 23-Nov. 5 so why doesn't the Free dining apply if 7 out of the 8 days are during the free dining promotion? Is is just because your check in day doesnt fall within that time?

All you have to do is go to the front desk before you leave and they will check you into your package. Even if you have to switch rooms they will do that for you and send bell services to your room and move your luggage to the other room.

That is correct. You can not apply the free dining discount to any part of your reservation if your check in date does not fall within the free dining dates.

Ok--so if the rumor is true, we have to move our travel date up by a day to get the FD. IF FD is offered, we can upgrade to a Mod from a family suite at ASMu. Should I go ahead and call tonight to move our room and dates? Would changing the room ahead of time make adding the FD faster on wed morning? I have to be at work at 8 and can't sit on hold at work because I'm a preschool teacher. We could always downgrade if the rumor ended up being false.

Thanks
Susan

WOW! There is a TON of information on this one. Too much for my brain to work through after a long day at work. :headache: We are booked 11/10-11/18 at POFQ w/ DxDDP. I am thinking at this point it would be best for us to just suck it up, stick w/ our original plans! I was hoping for some sort of deal to come out, but it sounds like such a pain to change it to take advantage of the FD offer. Oh well..............maybe we'll be able to take advantage of some sort of savings next year! This will be our first year in the last 4 years paying full price.

We are checking in Dec. 10th and will be staying till Dec. 16th. Guys PLEASE tell me that we still qualify for the free dining offer even though we are checking in ONE day before it starts. I can't see why we can't it for the remainder of our dates?

Can one of you guys PLEASE clarify this for me...it's very important for us as we were strongly thinking about canceling our trip up until 10 mins ago when I came across this. Thanks so much in advance

SbunitI'm sure you can but if they for any reason said you couldn't, then you would just need to book two reservations, one room only for the first night and then a package for the rest. We have done this due to coming from Europe and staying 16 nights, and after mentioning it to the front desk at check in we were even allowed to keep the same room. You will have no problem if this turns out to be more than a rumor :thumbsup2!

So I have another question....

It think I heard you can put a $$$ amount on each person "key to the world" so you don't have to take in cash. Has anyone ever done this?

I hope you're right...I've been trying to read the pages on this thread and I think I saw someone state that your check in date has to be during the free dining period for you to qualify...If that's the case We're screwed because we are checking in the day before free dining starts (checking in Dec 10th) and are tentative travel dates are absolutely not flexible because of work :(
