New free dining offer yeaaah

Wow it's taken me awhile to catch up from yesterday afternoon. I've been following this thread since the beginning.

Here's hoping that the rumor is true. I would love to get FD for the first time ever! :yay:

No, no. Basically you would have two reservations - one for the room only for one night AND one for your package with free dining (tickets, room, dining). They are separate from each other and the one night is not included in the package, it's an additional cost which you have to pay when you call to add it.

Thank you for your help! :)

Not a problem :) And keep in mind that you won't get any dining credits for that extra night, you'll need to pay out of pocket for meals. When you check out/check in on the second day you're there, they'll add them then. You may have to move rooms, but they try hard not to make you if they can. You can also book your package for an extra day's ticket to the park so you can go on that first day, but you'll need to go pick it up from the Downtown Disney ticket center or the actual Ticketing Center. You can't do that at your hotel until your package check in!

wondering same thing, i need to start trip on 10/1:confused3

used to be you could link 2 res to stay in same room, not sure if still applicable? anybody know for sure? I'm already doing a split trip between WDW & Universal & dread idea of moving 3 times.
:goodvibes

quoting myself;)

i priced out trip on disney's website & the chat feature popped up...

so I posed 'hypothetical' question re booking a FDP package linked to day before room only or package. Was told that once both reservations are booked you can make a request that they be linked but there are no guarantees it will be granted.:headache:

I came across another thread about the free dining yesturday ( dont know where it is now I forgot to bookmark) that said they think the FD will be opened to Disney Visa holders tomorrow first but not the gen pop til a few days later....hoping that isnt true

Disney hates to guarantee anything, I've noticed. :sad2:

This will be O.k. We are arriving at 4:40p on the 1st so we are planning to go to DDD with reservations at Trex. We wilnot be in the parks for the 1st. I just don't like the checking in and out part. We have reservations at Crystal Palace for 8amon the 2nd and do not want to mess that up. I wonder if I could check in and out and back in before 5am? :)

I hope this is not a lie about free dining !! I called and asked about that "FCX" code and was told that was a code for annual passholders only and that is was used back in 2007. I also called twice today and was told NO--that free dining was not offered for the dates of my reservation which are listed in the rumored dates. Crossing my fingers for good news tomorrow !!!

Web site usually updates around 5 to 6 AM (usually closer to 6 AM). My wholly unfounded guess is they update the resort promos along with the ADR availability. Seems to happen pretty close together.

Thanks for the info! Since I'm an insomniac I think I will log on around 3 or 4 and see what happens!

There's some of that speculation in this thread, too.

The truth is...nobody's quite sure. In many past years, they've given the DV folks a head start.

Last year, they didn't.

The actual people who've reported this rumor (2 or 3 of them, now) have said the offer goes live to the general public tomorrow.

That's all we know. We'll find out more tomorrow....

I can tell you this: I've not gotten an email from Chase, yet, about FD. :)

I think you read that on mouse planet and they said us no visa holders probably couldn't take advantage of the offers until sat or sun. BOO !!!!

So I have my package already booked with dining. If it opens online at 6:00 am that gives people who are doing it online an hour advantage over people such as myself that have reservations and just want to add the code. So should I get on at 6:00 and make a new reservation and then call at 7:00 and see if I can add the code to my existing reservation just to make sure I get the resort I want and if I can I can cancel the new reservation? Also I already have ADR's made to my existing reservation so if I had to can I transfer those to the new reservation? Hope this makes sense as it is confusing just writing it!

I think everything about this is very wait-and-see right now. There are educated guesses going on and some rumors that seem legit, but honestly until it's official no one knows. :thumbsup2

I have a feeling a lot of DISers will not be able to sleep tonight

No. At least I wouldn't.

While FD rooms can book up fast, I am 99.999999% certain they will NOT book up, based off of new bookings, between 6AM and 7 AM.

I know we all think the disboards is the center of the universe...but really, we're a drop in the bucket in terms of WDW customers. Most people are not going to KNOW about this deal, and of those that do I would venture a small sample are booking new ressies on-line, tomorrow, between 6AM and 7AM Eastern.

If it were me, I'd just wait until 7 AM.

We have the FD for the end of this month. We had to have a room only at the begining also. So our room only is 8/27 and our FD package is 8/28 to 9/5. There is notes on both of my reservations. The cm told me they book like this alot. I plan not to use online check in and ask the desk if we will have to switch rooms. They will be able to tell you then if you will need to change rooms or not.

I agree with this completely. We are a small percentage of people booking and the amount of us who actually knows when the website booking opens vs. phone booking is even smaller! I think you will be a-okay at 7AM.

Subbing, as I know that someone here will get the information hot off the press (if rumors turn out to be true). :goodvibes Patiently waiting with fingers crossed :yay:

Call me crazy. My husband is on the night shift this week, and gets home from work around 6:30am. I told him to make sure to wake me up as soon as he gets home tomorrow morning, if I'm not already awake. This is crazy, but I love getting a Disney vacation ready. :hippie:
