New FP released so do I change???

on Wednesday Dec 9th we are spending the day at Disney Springs then heading to MK for PM late hours. We currently have a pirates fast pass for 5:15pm and I'm wondering if we should switch it to the msep FP. We will be able to ride pirates on another day and this will be our only day to watch the parade. Just not sure if a parade FP is worth giving up a ride FP. Thoughts?

I can't fully compare, because I haven't used parade FP, but i have always caught at least one parade and one MK fireworks per trip without staking out spots hours ahead and still getting a fine view. Maybe the FP areas are wonderful, but so far I'm happy keeping ride FPs and still seeing the entertainment without.

Just realized the MSEP FP would be for the 11pm parade. Eh- I think I'll stick with the ride FP this time.

When we were there this past August during the last parade and after we rode a bunch of rides with hardly no wait. If you want to ride Pirates late or right before closing you may have no wait. Then again since it has just been refurbished it may have a line, not sure.

On Dec. 9 I wouldn't do it. Still will be fairly low crowds. I suggest getting a spot much closer to the end of the parade route. Been very successful getting decent spots there. And you'll likely be able to get some add'l FP for other rides after you used the first 3 so I'd make those for the first few hours right after you get there (and when you use a FP, check to see if you can reschedule any later ones earlier).

I've never used or needed a FP for a parade but did want to mention that typically it's very easy to get POTC as an additional FP after you use your first three. We have even been able to snag a FP time just 5 minutes out for this ride.
