New FP+ Question!

Please forgive me if this has already been asked but I've been reading the threads and haven't seen it so here goes! I am coming in May for 8 days and doing a park hopper. If I choose FP+ at Hollywood Studios for example and I change my mind when I'm there and want to pick another park, can we do that? I have a day where I'm choosing MK to do my FP+s and we may find that we didn't get to ride all of the rides in HS that we wanted so can I flip the whole thing? I know I can switch rides but didn't see anything about park changes. Thanks for the help.

You can change your 3 FPs to a different park as long as you haven't used any of them scheduled for that day.

The only thing to keep an eye on before May will be the availability of FP+ times for the next day once the system allows off-site and AP guests to do 60 day pre-booking in the same way that Resort guests can now. So just keep your ears open as to when that will happen and see how it's going as your vaca gets closer.
Right now, with half or more of park guests having to enter a park first in order to choose FP+s for the day, reports seem to indicate that next day FP+s are still available for resort guests to switch around.

You can change your 3 FPs to a different park as long as you haven't used any of them scheduled for that day.

However, you can't change them until you're IN that park. ie if you're in MK, and haven't used that day's FPs, you can't change them to HS until you're in HS.

Is that true for onsite guests? It looks like the OP will be at BC so doesn't that mean she can just use the App to change her FP+ choices anytime?

The app detects where you are. So it is possible that as long as the system is reading that you are in MK, it will not open up any options for other parks until you are physically there. Just a guess.

I'd keeep an eye on the Disboards until your trip, because FP+ rules are changing almost everyday

It's a little risky for on site resort guests - the only way to change FP+ to a different park is:

Cancel your current plans for that day
Then you can chose for a different park
If you don't like the choices available, you may not be able to get your originals back

Are you all saying that say I choose FPs at magic kingdom but were going to be at HS that evening and I decide the night before we didn't hit as many rides as we wanted and I wanna switch back are you saying I won't be able to do that sitting in my hotel room? Can I have concierge do it the next morning or that night or no? I will know prior to the day whether I wanna switch!

Mesaboy2 is correct. There is an option on the app to replace existing FP with new ones . I just changed my Epcot day to an AK day for this coming Monday. Nothing was final until I confirmed the change by hitting "done." I backed out of it a couple of times during the process because I was waffling on the decision to switch. It kept my EP FP+s in place until I hit Done. I did this 652 miles from WDW. It doesn't matter where you are when using the app.
