Before our last trip to WDW (2/04), we were given free passes to Busch Gardens by a friend. We had never been there before, so we thought it would be fun to try it out.
All I can say is that BG was awful! Sure, it had some great coasters, such as Montu, Kumba, and Gwazi, but it was filthy and had some of the rudest employees we have seen in any theme park. There was trash everywhere, chipping paint, and overflowing garbage cans. We overheard the employee running one of the kid's rides say that he "hates this @#$%*** job". There were also 3 emplyees standing near the elephants pits that were talking very derogatorily about some girl. We are by far not prudes, but the kind of language and gestures that they used had no place in a family theme park.
Needless to say, we will not be back. We have always loved the Disney parks and this experience with BG just reaffirms to us how much care, attention to detail, and training Disney uses in the operations of it's parks. We have found a new appreciation for WDW. I hope that our experience with BG was isolated because we are from the hometown of Anheuser-Busch and would hate to think that this is a normal representation of how they run their parks.
By the way, we did go to BG with open minds. My SIL lived in Tampa several years ago and raves about it. Has anyone else had this kind of experience eith BG?
