I am a regular browser on the Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies. For the past several months it is consumed with FP discussions-mostly all negative. I agree 100% with the negative comments. We visit WDW once per year & always stay on-site. For the first time(regrettably now) we are staying off site next month due to a work trip. I am almost dreading this trip because of the changes for the FP system. We arrive each day for rope drop and my DH is amazing at managing our family's FP's. This new system of 3 per day sucks. Booking ahead of time like dining leaves no spontaneity left in a vacation. It penalizes planners who arrive early & want to ride as much as possible.

That being said, I think a new forum is needed for FP dialogue. I go onto this thread to get excited about our upcoming trips & to learn something new. Anymore I can't find any such thing on this forum. It's a downer. I guess I am contributing to it by starting another negative thread but I'm just asking for it's own home on DIS. Anyone agree??

This has been requested a good number of times, but moderators have rejected it (for good reasons, in my opinion. FP+ situation is changing so fast these days that it's probably the most vital component now for successfully planning Theme Park Attractions and Strategies).

My suggestion would be to only open threads that have no reference to FP+ in the title. I see quite a lot of them on the main page.

I agree. I am tentatively planning a trip for early March just to see a band we like at the Flower Power series of concerts. We are staying offsite since no discounts are available and we are annual passholders. At the moment, I really don't see how we can "upgrade" to a magic band and the early Passholder Plus options but that's OK. We don't need that. For our week long May trip, I'll figure it out since we'll be onsite. But for now, I just ignore the constant negative stuff about FastPass Plus and read the other threads.

I really think a forum only on FastPass Plus would really confuse people. I would go in there looking only for my specific needs and have to find the ones that relate to me which I can do on the main forum. Otherwise, I'd have to have "Annual Passholders staying offsite but with the RFID card and no magic band".

I think the FP stuff belongs here because it is a strategy board, according to the title.

There are lots of threads and entire forums on here that I don't enjoy at all. I just don't go into them.

Well I used to enjoy this forum the most, but not anymore. The majority of posts are about FP. It is a big part of planning IF you're staying on site. If you're offsite, you're relegated to waiting in line to wait in line at the parks with no traditional FP machines anymore. There is so much discussion & it's important & relevant-I totally agree-that's one of the reasons I feel it deserves its own forum.

I appreciate where you are coming from, op, but I do think the fp discussions belong here. If you are looking for threads to get you excited about your trip, the trip reports board may be the better place to go. My understanding is that many "just back, this is great!" threads are being moved there (along with the similar negative threads, but that is usually indiciated in the title and i just wouldn't open those threads.)

I think it's a fundamental planning aspect for all guests, not just onsite ones.

I completely agree. It could be a sub board on this one just like how DDP is separate from restaurants. At least 75% of posts right now are about FP+ being AWESOME or HORRIBLE that really add little to the actual using FP+ to tour effectively, which right now seems somewhat impossible.

I am extremely anxious about our upcoming trip as it is! LOL

Make a one-night stay at the cheapest value. I think (and I could be wrong) that they'll send you a MB and you can link your APs and then make reservations for whichever days you want.

Be careful...we did this and did not bring our actual APs. The systems aren't set up to accept your magic band at stores or dining (that I could see - but could be wrong on dining) for AP discounts.

You have to link your pass to get fp+, but if you don't have the ticket you don't get the discount. Everyone we talked to - and there were many due to issues - told us AP holders qould be gettinh their own bands soon. They tries to give us a new real ticket to use for discounts and messed up our band link to our room...

We were never able to get the app to let us change anything individually. It would only reset a full days fp+. There was an option, but it wpuldn't work. When the app would pull up it was slower than Christmas.

If you use rope drop and can get later fp+ times you may be okay, but with everything having fp and an increase in the overall usage of it, both standby and fp return queues were full.
