New Feature on Carnival Ships

I've cruised on CCL several times and they've had a "Build-A- Bear" type of experience for a while now. My daughter built a bear complete with a voice recorded by my husband. Even then, the proceeds went to St Jude.
I think the only difference is that it will officially be a Build A Bear brand bear. ...maybe more choices for outfits maybe.....???

And I believe now you hand stuff the bear - I'm guessing they'll put the machines on the ship.

DD made her first BAB yesterday. I'm terrified for my future. o_O

Thank goodness this is exclusive to Carnival at this point.

What a great idea. Surprised Disney didn't think of it!

I honestly don't get the appeal. We don't go on vacation to buy stuff. We go on vacation to relax and have fun.
That is my biggest concern with trying other lines (which we will be after our 2018 DCL trip), every large ship I see videos of look like floating malls. My first thought upon reading this was "Oh good, now they just need a JCPenney and it can really feel like spending $100/night to walk through our local mall."

That criticism said though, I'm sure my daughter would want one and I'm sure I wouldn't even think twice about letting her get one as her souvenir.

I cant see Disney doing anything thats not related to Disney.
But Disney allows BAB to sell their characters. They have frozen, marvel, and Star Wars. Hence the chewbaca that DDs friend selected yesterday. Admittedly, chewy was very cute.

Really, you've never bought souvenirs on vacation? Will you please have a chat with my wife and kids?

I tend to buy things on sale before we leave for the parks and the children get Mickey Mail in the evening if they have been good. Saves me a ton of money. On the cruise the kids and I picked one thing each (well except my rum lol). I got a Christmas ornament for $5 on Grand Cayman, DD1 got a sweatshirt onboard (it was her birthday so I let her spend more money than usual), DD2 got a stuffed turtle for $8 on Grand Cayman. I just can't see spending $50 on a stuffed animal. We don't do t-shirts or knick-knacks either. We make lots of great memories and take lots of photos.

Carnival is doing the Seuss at Sea thing now too. We don't love Carnival but that was enough to push us over the edge and book a 4 night sailing. I'm referring to it as our "slum cruise". It'll help give me something else to obsess about and pass the time till our next DCL sailing.
