Besides our alltime favorite Animal Kingdom Lodge and our beloved Beach Club, we now include Port Orleans Riverside in our list of favorite places to stay. We spent five nights there during Thanksgiving before moving over to the BCV for six more nights, and I have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed the resort. We were in the plantation portion of the resort and found it to be quiet and very pleasant. It was very hard to believe that the resort was full as you just never saw people strolling around the area. I've already made plans for a two night stay before our May and October visits to BCV next year!

I've always been very happy with my stays at POR (and it will always be Dixie Landings to me). Even when my room was a little far from the main area, the walk there was amid such beautiful surroundings that I didn't mind.

Now that I'm a DVC member, I doubt I'll ever stay at POR again. If I'm staying at a regular WDW resort to save on weekend points, I'd go with AKL if I wanted my favorite non-DVC resort, or I'd stay at one of the values if I wanted to save money.

That is one of our all time favorite resorts!
Please see sig..... :earboy2:

yes I also loved POR.

I have found an offsite place that Spicey can stay with in - that is also a timeshare....

only one time did we find it crowded. May (it was so hot that May) that many more people were enjoying the pools. so it feel a little crowded. of course I am comparing it to OKW - most anything feels crowded after OKW.

This is my favorite non DVC resort, love the pool and pool bar and the walkway around the resort, through the palms and over the bridges. :cool1:

My favorite is the Polynesian. I stayed there on a CBR refugee rate of about $100 per night one Chistmas. *sigh* My husband's favorite is AKL. We stayed in a savannah view both times.
