New Fast Pass Limits?

We were just there last month and none of this at all true.

We started pulling Fast passes as soon as we got in the parks and kept pulling them throughout the day as soon as our window opened up. We also had runners get Fast passes for our entire group of 13 with no issues.

I didn't realize the sing along has a fastpass - is that required to get in, or is it for priority seating?

They let the FP people in first and then if there is any space in the theater, they let the standby people in. We found last week that FP's were generally being distributed for the next show time and weren't hard to get. You just have plan in into your FPs for the day since it closes the window for another FP until after the show (since you can't leave the show to go get FP and then come back) or two hours.

I guess I never thought about that. So you're saying the show starts at 1:30, you should be able to get another FP at 1:30, but you can't because you're in the show. Could another member of the party get FP for everyone if they skipped the show? Or does the FP say you can't get another one until 2:00? The way I planned our first afternoon it wouldn't matter to us, but it could matter if we considered seeing the show again on another day.

There can be a lot of confusion around the fastpass system. Kinda of related: I know I have heard people say that they did not want to pay extra to buy the fastpass option on their ticket. I think they might be confusing the park hopper option.

All you have to do is look at the stack of invalid fastpasses sitting on top of the fastpass machines with "not a valid fastpass" due to the person already holding a fastpass, to understand how people are still learning about the system.

The FP do not have the typical "your next FP is available at" language at the bottom. But a CM did tell me they were connected to the main FP system like the rides were. I didn't try to get another one right after and took her at her word. But for the 1:15 show, you are suppose to return between 12:35 & 1:05 and the doors close promptly at 1:05. So yep, that pretty much closes the window until your show is over unless someone in your party isn't seeing the show.

Something I need to clarify...if you are park hopping are the FPs on separate systems? Meaning can you hypothetically get a FP from DCA and immediately go get a FP at DL?

Any tricks for accomplishing this, if it's possible?

Yes...the DL and DCA FP systems are essentially "disconnected" from each other. So you can get a DCA FP and then immediately "hop" to DL and get a FP there (or vice-a-versa). There are really no tricks needed...

It's worth noting that the WoC FP, A&E M&G, and Olaf M&G are also disconnected from the DCA system (and from each other). Likewise, the F! and Fantasy Faire Royal Theatre are disconnected from the DL system (and from each other).

Although, it would be interesting to know if you can get a WoC FP and F! FP on the same night. I remember when the F! FP system first debuted, someone said the system wouldn't let them get a F! FP because they already had a WoC FP, but I haven't heard about it happening since them.

The only tip is pay attention to your times. If you have a return time of 11:30-12:30 for space mountain and you hop over and get a FP for Soarin and it's for the same or a similar time, you could have difficulty making both rides between queuing, riding, and hopping back to the other park.
