It was reported earlier that Disney was considering/had decided to move the Princess Fantasy Faire to the Carnation Plaza Gardens area. The Disney blog confirms it tonight. Looks interesting! I don't know the sightlines well enough to know if this will look weird on Main Street or not. I was concerned about crowds in that relatively small area, until I realized the actual number of people at PFF isn't very big to begin with.

They don't mention Tiana or Jasmine in the lineup of princesses...I wonder if that means they're going to be in New Orleans Square and Adventureland, respectively. (I understand that right now they sometimes show up in PFF.)

This will be interesting. Saw it earlier as a D23 post after they announced it this afternoon there.

I'm wondering if it will have a dinner show from the people sitting at table.

Also how big, the top picture on the blog post shows a lot of depth.

The OCD freaks over at Micechat heads are going to explode. :rotfl:
This excerpt might defuse some of that:

"And at night, the Fantasy Faire Stage will come alive with the classic music and dance offerings that Disneyland park guests have loved for years."

I was worried myself, and I'm not OCD. (Btw, the letters should be in alphabetical order: CDO. :lmao:)

Just saw this on the Disney Parks Blog...I will admit I am pretty excited. From what I understand, this will be in the area of the current Princess M&G right? I typically don't spend much time in that part of FL, and earlier this month was the first time I actually saw this particular area of the park (I took a wrong turn after a busy parade!). This might draw more people to the back area of FL.

No it will be in Carnation Plaza just to the left of the castle. And they did mention today it will revert back to a swing dance area at night. That brought a noticeable sigh of relief from the some members in the audience BTW.

Ooooh, got it. Well I still think it's gonna be pretty interesting. :thumbsup2

I think it will be neat. There's a couple areas in the park like that where they could be putting the space to much better use. One that comes to mind is the old sky buckets station in fantasyland. It's all overgrown and whatnot.

Getting rid of the PFF area will free up big land at the back of the park. Eticket big. There has long been rumors of what will take this spot. This should liven those up.

was there any indication of when this will be opening?

Haven't heard of any times on this, but it will probably take a year to do. Designs may be done since this may of been taken strait from MK's Fantasyland Expansion plans.

I'm excited! I thought the PFF was a waste, not only of good space, but of people's time with the wait. I visited once and waited 45 minutes and was shocked to only find 3 princesses there. I waited 45 minutes for 3 measly princesses??? And the wait times are easily double that when the park is more crowded! This expansion looks so much nicer--and things to do while you wait for a M&G! Yeah, I know the purists are up in arms. I do get the sentimentality of the place. I performed on that stage when I was a kid too. But let's face it--aside from the swing dancing, the only people watching performances there are the families of the performers. This looks fabulous.

Although the theming seems really extensive--even if the designs are done and taken from MK, I do think it will take more than a year to construct. At least it's out of the way.
