NEW FAD*Charm Bracelets*save a few bucks

Disney now has make your own Charm Braclets, they are cute but just as bad as pins as far as adding up expense wise. The charms are $3 ea and the bracelet is $5?. Anyhow World of Disney has Charm bracelets (Princess, Tinkerbell, Mickey) in the jewelry section with 5 of the same charms on them for $10. The Princess bracelet has 5 different princesses so for $10 total, vs 5 X $3 = $15 plus bracelet @$5 = $20 for the exact same charms if bought seperately. The bracelet has room to add on more charms if you like.

I saw these on my last trip, and I have to say that for any one doing this, you should have your own braclet. The ones that they are selling to put the charmes on are pieces of junk. I think they would fall apart before the end of the day.

But the charms are nice. I was thinking about buying a few of them for myself, and going to a jewlery store and buying a nice chain to put them on, but I forgot and never got back around to it.

I bought a Princess charm bracelet at Walmart that has room for attaching more for $2.88. I've bought other items there as well as the Disney Store, Big Lots, Kmart, etc.

I plan on putting together a surprise basket for the kids for when we arrive. We will be buying souvenirs when we get there of course.

I bought the bracelet an a couple of charms fo my 4 yr old DD in November. When we went back in Feb this year she of course had to add more charms. It si adicting forme as well as her to find the charms. I brought a disney charm bracelet that I had since I was small and we now have a hobby together. LOL The bracelet from the park has held up very well. she wears it constantly in the parks nad at home so I am happy with it.

We spent major $$$$$ on the charm necklace. It has held up really well. My daughter wears it to Kindergarten. She likes to change the charms and wear a new necklace. I think this is something that will grow with her. And we can add on more charms each trip. My husband thinks it was a waste, but I think we are getting our money's worth.

DD and DH bought one for me on our trip last summer, and then DH bought one for DD the day B4 we left to come home. At first i was surprised that he bought me a kids bracelet, let's face it, it's kinda cheesy(but that's perfect for the land of the mouse) but as soon as I saw which charms he had taken the time to choose(o.k., he had help from DD ) I was thrilled and wore it every day of the trip and at home at times too.Now, would he have ever bought me a bracelet and taken the time for charms here at home...ummmm, no! More Disney magic at work! Each time we go back DD and I plan to add to the bracelet, limiting ourselves to 2 charms each. In the geand scale of possible WDW souvees, I think $3 charms are a steal. And yes, it has held up really well. They are meant to bring a smile to your face and memories w/each charm. Enjoy it!

My daughter, too, has a serious addiction to these charm bracelets. She's had good luck with her bracelet--it's in good shape despite daily wear and constant rearranging.

Thought others may be interested to know that you can get additional charms at Hallmark and Walmart stores. The Walmart charms don't look quite as nice, but they are 3 for $2.88--a great buy for young charmaholics;>)

It's great to know that the braclets hold up so well. But I still think that I will be buying my own to put them charms on, for the next trip.

If these are a like the nominationn bracelets, then most little girls adore these things.

My daughter got one for her 5th birthday. I personally would not have selected something so intricate and expensive for a child of that age, but so be it, she received it as a gift.

While she was altering her finger sucking habit at the dentist's orders, we purchased a charm a week to celebrate her successes.

Now, she wishes she had some Disney charms.

They have some watch nominiation charm bracelets at the local gift stores. I wonder if the gift shops in WDW have those. She thought that this would be something to aim for (a charm now and then) as she learns to tell time. She also has to whittle away at finger sucking at night and the evening.

Has anyone seen this type of watch at WDW? If not, may be I can purchase it prior to WDW and then buy some charms with her in WDW and some others back in the Disney stores.

Sorry, what is a nomination bracelet? I haven't heard of those. The bracelets at WDW are regular charm bracelets. The charms have a lobster clasp, so you can put them on and off easily. My daughter likes to switch them out and make different combinations. I may get a bracelet for myself on our next trip.

I don't really know what a nomination charm is either. But they also have these things called Italian Charmes, totaly different from the charms that we are talking about.

You can get them in bracelet or watch form. you buy each charm sepretly to make the braclet or the band of the watch. If I can find a pic of them I will post it.

Yep i have one of these braceletts too with my favorite charms on it..and I LOVE IT..i plan to add to it on our next trip in december..mine has held up really well...

This last October we stayed at All Star Music and at their gift shop near the registers they had a big table with the "make your own bracelet" charms. I made a keychain using the ceramic beads with the letters of my name, two mickey beads and two wizard hat beads. i put two mickey wizard hat charms on too. be very careful with the beads, it's only been 5 months and two of the beads are gone, (micky wizard hats) and all of the other ones are chipped really bad. The charms are holding up fine. I wouldnt recommend doing the ceramic beads for keychains, unless you never ever drop your keys

for anybody who hasnt seen them look at the disShop they have them there the watches as well.
