New "Extra Magic Hours"

We only made it to EPCOT and AK extra magic hour nights during our quick January trip, but we LOVED them! I wish we would have been there on the correct days to try out the other parks! It was so nice to casually stroll through EPCOT after illiminations and still have things to do, see, and taste without the crowds of people! AK was the same way. I know during the summer that AK magic hours will be a blessing to keep away the heat!

Is there still a charge for Enight hours for resort guest now?

Thanks

Yes, there is a charge for E-nights. There is not a charge for EMH (Extra Magic Hours). They are two totally different things. :teeth:

...And my understanding is Enights no longer exist because of evening EMH. There will be NO enights from now on. The only evening hours offered will be EMH. But I like that with evening EMH ALL 4 parks will be open late, not just MK (like with enights).

I love the fact that with the early morning that you also get the 3 hours evening as well. It's almost like e-night but you don't have to pay extra for it.
Seems like alot of changes since Eisner is gone and so far for the better. It's about time!!!

So how does the EMH work regarding at night since it's only available to resort guests? Do they check your room key?
I also agree that it's better than e-night because that was only held at MK and now it's all the parks! It's a great idea!!!!
Does every resort guest get to go? I remember with e-night it was only available to a certain amount of people. I hope they don't limit you with this one.

They check your resort ID, everyone in your party will have one, and issue a wrist band. Unlike E-night, which was sold on a limited basis, if you stay at a resort you are eligible. I really loved E-night because it was so limited. It was like being in the MK all by yourself. I wonder how these new hours effect the day crowds and how crowded will it be in the summer for the late hours?

When do you get the wristband?? Do they give it to you when you enter the park in the park in the morning? or do you have to leave and come back?

We are doing room only; so does that mean we should plan our MK day around the EMH? It would mean changing a couple dinner reservations around, DS3 and DD4 is it worth the extra effort? Just when I thought I had the trip planned....

You don't have to leave the park. I think you can pick them up about 2 hours prior to the regular closing times. They will have a couple of locations that you can pick them up at. Remember each park has a differnt day that they stay open late, it is not every night.

Does anybody know when I can find out what parks are open early/late for August? I want to start making dinner reservations but I don't want to mess up any EMH time because of prior dinner reservations.

Hate to burst your bubble but we're still waiting on April EMH's to be released. Most PS's can't be made before 90 days out anyhow. What I would do is keep track each month of what they do for EMH and see if there is a trend by August. I have noticed that the EMH hours are fairly consistent with only a few minor differences from month to month. You can find our current EMH hours for Jan. - Feb. on this DIS site. Good Luck!

I'm sooooo glad that AK has the extra hours at night. That park is the hottest place during the daytime. Night temps should be a big relief.
LOL...I've been saying this since the park opened!! :rotfl2: It's like a SAUNA :sunny: inside the place...especially in the summer. I believe it's all the tall foliage (which creates a canopy, thus trapping the HOT air), as well as all the concrete. I just always compare it with any other place, (like Epcot...sitting enjoying the cool breeze off the lake), and have to LAUGH! :rotfl: I'm so glad to read another poster feels the same!

*We will ONLY visit AK during the EMH!! ;)

*The last notice for E-Ride nights was a cancellation after a hurricane. So, E-Ride nights may be a thing of the past.

*E-Ride night was nice, but I believe EMH will be FAB!! Many people will still be enjoying the EE in the am, and will then return to their respective resorts for the eves. This will create a nice balance in the crowds. I'm always surprised at the masses whom exit the parks, and leave for the TTC and OFF-PROP resorts/hotels. So, only RESORT guests with valid passes will be able to ride these attractions. I am SO pleased with this new perk!! :cloud9:

Hi! We are going in August and in the past have used e-ride nights. We purchased 7 day passes prior to the ticketing changes. Does anyone know if this will be a problem with the new system or does it apply to all resort guests who have a valid pass? TIA.

I'm going in August also. I've never purchased the tickets beforehand but I see that now if you buy them online they give you a break so I'm debating buying them before we leave.
You shouldn't have a problem with the tickets you have since I'm sure there are many people with the older ticket that either purchased in advanced or had days left over. Seems like they wised up because now they expire 14 days from the first day of use so now they make sure you use all your days.
