New Epic Mickey game for the Wii

This is the result of the trade ABC did with NBC/Universal a few years back. ABC Gives up Al Michaels, announcer for rights to Oswald the Rabbit.

This looks so freakin' cool!
Too bad we have to wait another year or so (on G4's site it say the release date is November 2010)

That looks and sounds AMAZING. I'll be saving up for this one- I've wanted to play Kingdom Hearts forever but never could bring myself to pay for a whole new system, even for a really cool Disney game. So finally! A Disney game on a console I have! This is awesome. :D

Major Update! The issue has shipped and here are the scans with loads of detail about the game, and screen shots! It looks great:

Enjoy!

Once again, thanks JME W for an awesome update.

The more I learn about this game, the more I am coming to appreciate it. Unlike many other games, this one really seems like it has incredible depth.

It's also obvious that Spector has a great knowledge of Disney.

This will definitely be a first day purchase.

Thanks so much for posting the article! I can't wait for this to be released, its very exciting.

Thanks for posting that article - it was great! I am really exciting about this game. We love Kingdom Hearts and this looks like another game that both my kids will enjoy!

You're welcome everybody! I've been following this project since I first read about it back in December 2008...I'm very excited about all of this information as well, obviously

I just pre-ordered Epic Mickey on disneyshopping.com. Does anyone know when the game is supposed to be released?

WHOA! That looks really neat!

Those artwork / concept pieces that were posted are pretty incredible.

I just might have to get that for my Wii....:thumbsup2 Oh, you DIS enablers! :lmao:

Just learned a little bit more about the game from Joystiq:

"The game reportedly revolves around forgotten Disney characters who, after years of being ignored, have grown bitter. None more so than Walt's first cartoon creation, Oswald the Rabbit. He's the one who spread all of the evil black goo around that you see above. Mickey will apparently have to use paint, thinner and erasers to draw his way through the world, which makes the Wii exclusivity a lot easier to understand."

Wow, this game is sounding better and better all the time. Forgotten Disney characters? Can't wait to see who else makes an appearance.

Ah, you know what game this sounds like? "Okami" meets "Zelda Twilight Princess".

I will have to get this game and play. I need another RPG and this will fit the bill.

Thanks for the info.:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for sharing all the info., articles and concept drawings. This is really cool and definately will be on our list!

I absolutely loved Kingdom Hearts! It was a cross between 2 of my favorite things. Final Fantasy and Disney. The person who came up with that idea, was pure genius!

Epic Mickey, is going to be EPIC! Seriously. The person who said it was like a cross between Okami and TWP, definitely hit the nail on the head! Both are great games! I'm so excited for this... It can't come out soon enough! :)

DD is all over this game. She attends school for animation and her BF for Game Art, they have been following this for over a year and feel it is going to be pretty decent..maybe not the best graphics available, but the concept :thumbsup2. My DD is an Oswald fan tho, so she is biast. Her peers usually have insider info, I would ask her about it but since we are planning on this as a Christmas gift I do not want to give anything away by talking about it. I think it looks pretty awesome myslef and I agree with the Nokami comparison..another game that is really cool but not a huge seller :confused3

This game might end up under the Christmas tree this year! :goodvibes
