New Epcot Pavillion

I am a HUGE fan of Soarin'. It's one of the few things that makes DCA worthwhile. It is magical. It is breathtaking. It is a religious experience. It is the most amazing thing. WDW people will LOVE this!

I love that you get that wonderful orange smell that we used to get in Horizons! ;)

i would love to see a new pavillion too! i've been to DCA once and got to ride soarin' and thought it was wonderful! i can't wait to see it come to WDW!!

As long as we're getting into religion, we may as well have platform wars. On a Macintosh, ® is just "option-R". ;)

I'm new to the Rumors board... ::waves::

Just had to jump in here and let you all know that this will likely be confirmed in early October. There is a press event for the launch of Philharmagic and Mission: Space with a final day for tours of Pop Century (October 8-10). To get us press-types to bother with PC, the preliminary info teases that several upcoming and not-yet-before-confirmed future plans will be revealed that day. I would place a bet with real money that the Soarin' and Air pavilion rumors are confirmed then. I will be there and will report back, although I may not be the first to do so. The date for the official announcements is October 10th.

With a new Air pavilion, and perhaps down the line a much-needed refurb of Living Seas, perhaps the oft-rumored desecration of Spaceship Earth will not be necessary after all?!?!

This is no rumor. On wdwmagic.com, the following was posted.

22 August 2003: Construction about to begin!

Big news here.. Imagineering have just installed project trailers in between The Land and Imagination, which looks a good indication that construction is about to begin.

Any guesses on what the film will be like? I don't think the California film would be a good fit for WDW.
They could make a Florida film. Or an 'America' film. Or maybe a film featuring countries where a lot of WDW guests come from (U.S., Britain, Canada, perhaps Brazil). Or maybe a film with all the EPCOT countries.

The rumor (which I believe), is that it will be the exact, same California film, except that the final scene may involve Walt Disney World instead of Disneyland. Also, the rumor says that the film will simply be called Soarin', instead of Soarin' Over California.

Many guests won't even be aware that the film was originally shot entirely within California and off its coast. They'll see it as flying over mountains and ocean and farmland and cities. And even those who realize that it's a "California film" really shouldn't mind.

Sure, I'd rather see a new, original Soarin'-type movie at Epcot. But I disagree with those who say that transplanting Soarin' Over California to Epcot wouldn't be appropriate. In fact, with a proper pre-show, the attraction's DCA heritage will be a non-issue.

To be even more more precise...

The Disneyland® Resort includes:

- Disneyland® park

- That place they put in the parking lot so the annual passholders can go ride the two good rides when Disneyland gets too crowded but that no one else goes to see.

- Those shops they make you walk through just to get from the parking lot building thing and that's filled with those kind of dorky places that no one goes to even in South Coast Plaza and who wants wants to go to another Rainforest Cafe when there are like ten already around.

- The good old hotel except they took out the Neon Catus and made the monorail station all ugly and that other hotel that's way so far out there it's like walking from Costa Mesa and then that really big new hotel that looks like an office complex in Pasadena and you have to get a really cheap room if you're stuck over the shops and stuff.

...at least that's how us Californians describe the place.

Ok, that whole spiel of yours was absolutely hirarious! Thank you! :)

Does anyone have any pictures of the construction that you are claiming is going on?

We just got back from OKW, and upon searching the area around The Land and Imagination, We could not find any construction trailers, although we were told by several folks that the construction would be started by the end of the year.

Just back from a weekend on property. Soarin' construction has officially started, and they will be closing Food Rocks and using that area as the entrance to Soarin'.

That is sad mitros, DW and I really like Food Rocks.

Next you will say that they are getting rid of "The MAking of Me" for PC reasons...

I heard it is the same Calif movie, I will go to "The Place in the Parking lot" at the end of Oct, so I will judge for myself then...
