I've got a couple ?? about the new pavillion in WS in Epcot (Spain?)
First, I was there last week and there was a big wall between France and Morocco-I overheard someone say that's where it's going. Is it? It doesn't seem like enough space to me.
Second, when is this going to open? There was no mention of anything-just the wall.

IF you are looking for Spain on a map- that is where i would look- between France and Morocco....

Paul;)

Spain is a huge possiblity for a new pavilion, but where is the big question.

There has been no official word on a spain pavillion being built between Morocco and France pavillions in EPCOT. The wall that you are refering to is where the wine tasting seminars were being held during food and wine. They are still taking down the structures that stood in that area. Also they are replacing the grass that was removed for food and wine. Hope this helps.

Spain is the only thing that has survived the wrecking ball from the food and wine festival. It is right next to the African Outpost.

I have a picture of the temporary "Discover Andalucia, Spain" exhibit in my article about the Food & Wine Festival. And I have a picture for the flamenco dancers there in my follow-up picture story. It was a very nice, high-quality temporary exhibit for the Festival. But it would be a very substandard, low-quality permanant exhibit for World Showcase.

I'm suprised to read Robert Walker's report that it's not yet being removed. I hope the removal is merely delayed. Perhaps it will be used over the holidays.

I'd like to see Spain at Epcot as a permanent exhibit -- but I would expect the same level of detail and artistry that we've come to except from the rest of World Showcase.

The "Discover Andalucia, Spain" exhibit will remain up at EPCOT through the end of January 2003. This temporary structure was erected for the Food and Wine Festival to showcase the southern region of Spain. It was not intended to represent the entire country of Spain.

As of yet, there is no definite location for a potential Spain 'pavillon'.

I got all of this information from an Andalucian hostess during the FAWF.

I asked about the walled area at a few places, and no one told me what it would be. At Morocco, I asked if it was a new Saudi pavilion. The answer was that they did not know. At the temporary Spain pavilion, they said they were there just for a short while longer. (They give you bread with olive oil, and you can have a bottle of olive oil too -- though we chose not to lug it home.)

Just from all the things flying around it really looks like a revitalization of the world showcase is in the works. If they do and equal amount of work to future world i may start believing in the split park rumors....(not very likely)

Things I have heard:

New China Film
New Canada Film
Change to El Rio De Tiempo
Spain Pavillion
South Africa Pavillion (South Africa is another country trying to build its tourism industry)
Saudi Arabia Pavillion (recent events have the Saudis searching for a way to improve their image in the states, and they have been working on this deal ever since Millennium village)
Major E-ticket for Japan (look for Oriental Land Co to foot the bill)

Wow...Thanks for the rumor on:

Saudia Arabia
South Africa
Oriental Land Company/Japan

This is the FIRST time someone has mentioned any of these that I know of...and I read a lot of boards (sigh..I really do need to get a life :)
