I recieved an email from DFTW today containing a PDF with some info on escape packages, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the new Epcot Canada location, it was listed as a choice but there doesn't seem to be any info on disney weddings website but I am wondering if anyone else may know. If you know anything please post, I would have considered this but I didn't know anything about this location. Thanks

The only information I know is that there is a 50 person maximum for Wishes events there. I know it doesn't really pertain to you though.

I'm having my wedding in Canada (I am an Escape bride). I have lots of info in my PJ (in my siggie below)

Canada is what DF and I are booking! We're waiting on the forms to sign but have our date 'penciled' in for now.

It's a newer addition to the Escape locations. Canada is the ONLY Epcot location available right now to Escape brides; Wishes brides can pick other countries (and Canada).

The guest limit (unless at the time of your wedding they're still allowing you to pay a premium for a few more guests) is the standard 18 (+ bride and groom=20). The ceremony must take place before WS opens for the day. The timeline they sent me has the guests arriving at 8:30, ceremony at 9am, and event end time at 10:30am.

The package includes a mini coach to transport your guests backstage to the ceremony location. It holds 25 people. A 5 hour limo package is also included.

The price for 2010 is $5895.00. The most expensive of the Escape packages by just a bit, but that's to be expected, it's the only in-park location. All the standard Escape package amenities apply, cake, floral, limited photography, musician (violinist), etc.

DF and I were excited to hear about this being offered and knew we had to take it. We never would have picked the Canada pavilion first off, but we ADORE Epcot and being able to have our modest little wedding in the world showcase seemed perfect. Plus we're having a fall/halloween-themed wedding, and the rustic Canadian backdrop (the ceremony location is against the railing overlooking the canyon/waterfall) fits well with the look we're going for!

Boardwalk_bride on this board is the first DISer to plan an Escape wedding in Canada, you can go to the planning journal subsection to read her PJ and see some pics! (EDIT: hey look at that, she responded already while I was typing this!! :goodvibes)

HTH! :goodvibes

Canada will be amazing for a fall theme! I am so jealous, that is what I really wanted, but we were not able to have our wedding in the fall. I hope you start a PJ soon so I can see all your plans!

Thank you for posting this information. I am seriously considering it. Dh wanted an outdoor location but the only one I liked was Sunset Pointe which could not accomodate our guest count anyways so that is why I chose the WP. I am wishing that disney's website had more specific info and more pictures on this location. Since right now I am only penciled in, I guess it wouldn't be too much of a problem to change it. I like the idea of having it so early in the morning.

I am also wondering if you are allowed to walk to other surrounding countries for photo purposes? And do you also have to worry about park admission for the guests? Where is the cake reception held if you choose this location? I am seriously considering this.

Thanks so much for the help.

Wow - that sounds so great for Escape Brides. Having a ceremony and cake reception in Canada would be beautiful. Our Wishes wedding was in Epcot in Italy and there are so many great places in Epcot.

I have one question, where would your ceremony and cake reception be if there is rain. I had it written into my contract that in the case of rain our ceremony would be held in the American Routonda (another beautiful location in Epcot.

Can't wait to read more.

Linda

I was also wondering if anyone knows if you are allowed to bring in outside photographers to this location.

Thanks

I'll help out as best as I can:

You cannot walk around to other countries, unless you purchase the Epcot Portrait Session (trust me, I asked). The do take lots of pics around Canada.

Your guests do not need park admission

I'm not sure where the cake reception is @ Canada, I am assuming it would be somewhere behind the ceremony set up (closer to the "hotel"). I asked to move mine to the reception site (the attic). They agreed, since I originally had the chocolate castle on it, and was worried it would melt.

If there is rain, the back up site is in the Canada pavilion where they play the movie (apparently there is a window in there that allows you to see the waterfalls still in the background). I never go in there to see the movie (since I figure 24 years in Canada makes me an expert already) so I don't know what it looks like!

Hey Boardwalk Bride - thanks for the info. You should also check out the movie. They redid it a few years ago and added Martin Short and it really is cute. I like to see the show in the American Pavillion. It gives me a good feeling and I have lived in America all my life.

Your right...I will definitely check it out this time!!

Oh thanks!! We really shouldn't be able to have it in fall either! :lmao: Fall is my favorite season and Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, but I'll be in school in the fall (nursing program=8 hour clinical, 8 hour class, and 3 hours of lab time each week!) and CANNOT miss a single day, so we're sacrificing our honeymoon in order to get my halloween wedding! :lmao: We're only going to be staying at Disney the night before, night of, and two more nights after the wedding, then we're looking to take a cruise for a proper honeymoon in December once the semester ends.

Your pics of the Canada location are what got me really excited to call! My colors are dark purple and deep orange and the canada backdrop fits SO much better than the WP, which was our plan before Epcot opened to Escape brides. So exciting! I'm going to get the ball rolling on a PJ soon, as soon as our week in the World is over (we're leaving this afternoon as soon as DF gets home from work!). I'll be peeled to your PJ and future TR to see how everything turns out, excited for you!!
