Is it really going to snow from Saturday through Monday? I live on the south shore (near Hanover/Rockland) What are they saying, since I keep missing the weather forcast and I don't trust the national weather sites.

The kids are thinking no school on Monday.

:eek:no school Monday?? I have heard nothing about this storm...please say it isn't so:headache:

It's a big one, but I just don't know the accumulation numbers, or the heavy hit areas. Maine is supposed to get the brunt of it, but we are getting something.

just watched channel 7 weather and it doesn't look like we will get a lot around here. The projection map showed maybe 4 - 5 inches in the Boston area. Thank God! We do not need another day off of school Monday!

No school Monday would be fabulous! I love a snow day before vacation or after vacation! :thumbsup2

I am in southern NH and from what I understand the "BIG" storm is going to be in Northern nh and Maine. We will be getting snow showers all weekend with accumulations of 2-4 inches each day. By Sunday night/Monday we may have 8 inches or so.

Okay, well, it's precipitation, and it appears white... and it's frozen water crystals in varying sizes of flakes, with no two flakes (presumably) appearing the same... :umbrella:

We are in central Maine and the weather forecast just given said 3-5" tonight into tomorrow; the BIG storm is Saturday into Sunday, with "over a foot" in the forecast. :yay:

Hello neighbor! I'm in Scituate.

I'm near Sturbridge (Central Mass) and as far as I know, the majority of the snow is far northern New England. We are (right now at least) supposed to get about 3 inches so no big deal yet.

Hello neighbor! I'm in Scituate.

OT: Just wanted to tell you how much I love Scituate.. I live in upstate NY - have a cousin that lives a couple of blocks from the ocean in Scituate - and my aunt used to live in Norwell.. I have many fond memories of visiting the village of Scituate.. Last time I was there was in 1995.. I really envy your ability to live there..:goodvibes

Hope you don't have a bad storm and you stay safe and warm..:)

Forecast this morning shows 5-10" from Boston south starting Saturday and ending Monday am. If the storm moves south it could be significantly more, moves north, less...so, as usual, they have absolutely no idea:rotfl: DD is already discussing no school on Monday and planning who/where/when to go sledding that day. I, on the other hand, am trying to figure out how to pay the $150 to have the driveway plowed if melting is not in sight before mid-week.

Can you send some my way... I used to live in Mass, now I am in Indiana.I miss snow sooooo much. We get maybe a foot of snow all season. I want to take my kids sledding so badly!!:confused3

I live in Maine......have all of my life......but some day .......just you wait...some day we are going to go south for the winters and then north for the summers....
The snow storm that is coming is supposed to be light today and then Saturday into Sunday.....MASSIVE amounts........
I think the stork left hubby and myself in the wrong location....

Happy New Year to you all...North or south.....East or West.....just a good ol' fashion HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hello neighbor! I'm in Scituate.

hey there...another neighbor here! I'm in Weymouth. I have a friend that just moved to Scituate from Hanover and she loves the neighborhood....just down the road from Minot Beach...gorgeous area!

me too! :goodvibes i'm a Marshfieldian, and i originally grew up in Norwell.

don't forget, school closings don't necessarily depend on snowfall...more if the DPW is able to get on top of clearing the roads.
