New E-Ticket coming to Magic Kingdom

I read something a while back about an Incredible's Roller Coaster. Who knows?

I read on another site that the old skyway station and the tomorrowland stage space in front of it (not the galaxy theater) were to be used for a new full service restaurant. Therefore the TTA would travel through the new building. The tomorrowland stage has already been removed. I hope they will do something with this space soon as it is a very dead area.

Bring it back to California and refresh the show. I'm sure there are plenty of childern today who would wonder at the marvels of the 1980s when cell phones were the size of bricks, when cable television gave us 20 whole channels and revel in all the glories of 8-bit video games!

when we were there last week, they asked us to take a survey as we were exiting CoP. It was all about how we rated the attraction, what we liked, etc.
Looks like they're collecting ammo.

They do this stuff all the time. I got asked like a week ago what I thought of space mountain.

There's a refurb most likely coming up in January, maybe they're trying to make sure they improve as much as possible

So Disney dosen't know whats wrong with its rides unless they get a survey from me?

Ive heard rumours of a possible upcoming refurbishment of Space. They asked me questions about what I liked the most about the ride. What disappointed me about it and how where the CM's. Pretty standard questions. My guess is its quality control because Ive gotten asked about the survey just walking around the park and coming off of rides like TTA.

I tend to agree with the CoP critics. We did it in 2004 and it's pretty dated. I'm not sure what they could to make it more interesting. When it opened, I'm sure the animitronics were quite the attraction, but now? I'd prefer it be kept and updated but if they are going to let it languish then replace it. But not another coaster. Something on the order of Spiderman at IOA but a space/future theme?

Maybe they can sell it back to the former sponsor GE and they can put it in at US/IOA. How out of place would that be!!?? All kidding aside, the attraction is dated and primative, sort of like a '57 Bellaire. A classic but updating the last scene or the entire presentation to to a modern one changes the "classic" aspect. But keeping it exactly the same will only attract those that like the classic. I had once mentioned that the CES in Vegas could give them a great avenue for a variety of annual sponsors showcasing the latest technology, but I think the current storyline tie-in to the advancements in home appliances is now awkward without a GE type sponsor.

I agree, not a rollercoaster - something like Spiderman at IOA would be awesome. I do love CoP though and would be v sad to see it go (even if I'm the only one in my family to feel that way).

Well, sure, we'd all like to replace all of the B ticket attractions with something equivalent to what is perhaps the best dark ride anywhere.

Yes, it has been changed at least a couple of times since GE dropped its sponsorship which required a change in format to flow somewhat away from the GE pitch. I was just thinking, the last (technically second to last) scene could be updated with the absolute state of the art showcase, but the gap would widen from the previous generations and the flow from appliance to consumer electronics would be hard to bridge properly.

CoP was originally built ito show approximately 20 year intervals when it premiered in the 60's.

Kind of tough to do today without adding 2-3 more sections, so if it displays state of the art suff for today (which I think it should), it will be a biiiiiiiiiiiiiig leap.

But, what the heck. Why Not?

But back to the OP after a shameless hijack................. I'd like to see (If it is ACTUALLY going to happen) some kind of "true" Tomorrowland themed "dark" ride. No coaster. No simulator. NO centrifuge.

I vote to keep COP and update. It's one of the few original attractions that was under the direction of Walt Disney.

Stitch would be a good location to use for a new "E" attraction.

I like COP too... I would vote to move it to Epcot instead... Then Disney gets its it real estate at its most popular park and the COP is still alive and well.

Just discovered this post and am new on the boards thanks to DW's urging to stop lurking.

I/we are huge fans of CoP and would hate to see it disappear forever. I understand that it's very dated, but in my humble opinion, that's what gives it its charm. I am particularly fond of the scenes prior to 'modern' day. But heck, I'm a huge nostalgia fan anyway. How did we ever manage to survive without cell phones, computers and email, anyway? Even if they rebuilt the attraction from the ground up, I vote to keep it.

No offense to Stitch fans, but that attraction has been troublesome ever since it first opened as Alien Encounter. More and better could be done. But then I'm not one of those thrill seekers that likes movies/attractions where scary things jump out of the dark at me. I guess I'm wound too tightly for that to be entertainment.

It's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day...

I don't think its a good sign that they are doing surveys after COP. They manage to shift the data to justify anything they do and since it has been repeatedly said COP is expensive to run....

My personal take I have helped many collegues plan trips and always tell them to visit CoP. All have come back loving it which is not the case for M:S ( the cerbral hemorrage version). They should boot it first and put CoP there!

They've always collected random data outside of all the attractions. Generally it's 2-3 "White shirts" walking around collecting data.

I wouldn't be worried just because someone quizzed you. They probably quized you, 3-5 other families, and then moved onto a different area.

Carousel of Progress never needs to be shut down. However, I do have a compromise, Move the thing to Epcot if they have to have that real estate for something else. CoP should be open forever. However there definitely needs to be some updates.
