While we were "home" last week, we were surprised to see new DVC watches at the SSR gift shop. Unlike the Fossil watches that were out earlier, these don't appear to be limited; at least, they aren't numbered in any way.

They are made by Skagen, and are very nice. They are all stainless steel, have a very thin face and light mesh band. The DVC logo appears in gold in the brushed metal face, and it says "Member" beneath it. Best of all (and for us, this makes it an improvement over the Fossil) it is water resistant. The box is typical for Skagen, nice but not worth saving; it's a plastic cube that holds the watch inside. They come in men's and women's sizes, and cost $125.00 each. We bought one of each, bringing the total of DVC watches in our house to 4! The Fossil's are still our favorites as far as overall look, but these are more practical.

We had been at the BCV all week and had not seen these. Boardwalk's store also did not have them, as far as we could see. We only saw them at SSR and OKW.

Here are links to a couple of photos. Sorry we're not savvy enough to get them to appear below!

Thanks Dave!

That looks really nice! And Water Resistant is a huge plus. I love wearing my Fossil, and always receive lots of compliments, but I always forget to take it off before coming in contact with water so I would love a more carefree DVC watch.

I know WR and WP are 2 different things but the Skagen may be a little more forgiving.

I saw those watches last week at SSR, too! They are very nice! Somehow I managed to resist the temptation to buy one. I couldn't buy every single thing that says DVC and/or SSR on it on my 1st trip, got to save something for the next trip. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I do not own the DVC watch, but I have the exact same watch that I bought while I was down there in Feb. The face on my watch has the profile of Mickey's head and also cost $125. I do like it a lot and would definitely but the DVC watch. If I had known about a DVC watch I'd probably bought that one instead. Oh well, we'll be down in June, maybe I'll look into getting it.

Hi Carone- yes, we noticed that the WOD store at DD had a whole section of Skagen Disney watches, with some very similar to the DVC one. They said that the DVC one was only available from DVC-connected stores, though. When we bought them, no one checked for our membership cards. We also bought some DVC luggage tags, so they probably assumed we were members.

we were down at christmas and the bw store off the lobby were they sell the dvc items had the watches and yes, it was very tempting, i wish it has numbers on them, but i guess it wouldnt look elegant then practical. ;)

I think this is what Dave was trying to do:

The Boardwalk Store had these watches when we were there in March. I thought about getting one, but they were a little too pricey for me for a watch. My typical watch is a Casio for $15 from Wal-Mart :).

Hmm not a bad looking watch we have the other DVC ones and the ladies one my wife wore has broken allready the clasp on the band broke and on mine I got water in it when I forgot to take it off before doing the dishes so they are both just in their boxes now. To be honest the Fossil ones were not worth the money at all.

I picked up one of these when I was at SSR for a member meeting. When checking in to Port Orleans French Quarter as I was checking in the CM at the counter became distracted because she was admiring the watch. It is a really nice looking watch.

I bought a fossil watch in Feb. Isn't there a guarentee? If they break do you have to post them back to Disney?
