I want to buy the 4 day ticket for DH who already has a non expiring ticket linked to his MDE. I am kind if worried that there will be some confusion within the system and his costlier per day myw days will be used instead . I am also kind of worried about unlinking his nonexpiring ticket so that can't happen. ( concerned about losing FP's already made) anyone have any experience with this yet? If I do keep both linked can I check MDE as soon as I enter the park to make sure the right ticket was used? I would rather have to clear up any mistakes right then. TIA

I had the same question and Disney replied that I would need to go to guest services PRIOR to entering the park and tell them what tickets you want to use. In other words they will prioritize them. Good luck

Thanks. Did they mean go to guest services each day or just once before using MB to enter parks?

I had a similar concern to the OP when I had two different tickets. One ticket was an expiring MYW and the other was non-expiring. Both were linked to my MB as were my FPs. I wanted to make sure that I used the expiring MYW days before using days on the non-expiring pass. I was given the same advice that minnime noted above ... go to Guest Services to designate which ticket the computer would use. I thought that would take more time than I wanted to spend. So, instead, I just brought the actual expiring MYW ticket (just like pre-MB days) and used it for park access instead of scanning my MB. That way, I was absolutely certain that the expiring MYW ticket days were being used. When all my expiring days were used, then I used the MB to access the non-expiring ticket.

Since linked FP info really isn't on the MB (the MB just points to the data on the Disney computer) my FP's were unaffected and were still accessible using the MB at the attractions regardless of whether I used a MB or a physical ticket for entry.

Yes, you need to carry the physical ticket. But, it saved the trip to Guest Services (which can have long lines some mornings) and I was absolutely certain which ticket was used at each park entry.

Ok, so we can just not scan his mb when entering the parks and use the hard ticket itself for entry but scan the mb for fastpasses ( even though the fp's were made with the non expiring ticket linked)?

That's exactly the way it worked for me.

Did you check your Non Expiring ticket to make sure the days were still there?

Is it possible to unlink your own tickets? I haven't been on MDE since February and I've forgotten everything I learned.

Each evening I logged on to MDE and checked the number of days remaining on the expiring and the non-expiring tickets. Since I had both tickets linked in MDE, the status of both was displayed.

I don't know if you can un-link a ticket on MDE. It appears that MDE does let you reassign an unused pass ... but I haven't tried that. Of course, after the first use, the pass is non-transferable.

Unfortunately you cannot unlink your tickets. I had this exact issue. Checked on day one to ensure that they used the right ticket. CM barely glanced at the I-pad screen and said, yep...next day to be sure I asked, they said yes, BUT wait! we are wrong! it used your non-expiring ticket. They can't give me the days back...but did fix and then issued a two day park hopper pass. When I got home I had to have them upgrade to a non-expiring two day pass. I have multiple unused tickets from stays that I used a package, but had an annual pass. Not sure when if I will ever link them as right now I have three tickets linked...the 4 day non-expiring, the 2 day non-expiring and a new AP that is purchased, but will not be activated until December....I think I have four more two day tickets each sitting in the safe...

You cannot unlink your tickets but you can disable tickets. If you go on MDE and under magic bands and cards, click on the card picture you want to disable. It states 'card is not in use' and has a box you can check.

It states next to that 'This card cannot be used while deactivated. You may activate it at anytime.'

does this cancel any pre-existing FP+ you have already booked?

I was under the impression that the deactivation function in "MagicBands and Cards" which the PP mentions allows for deactivation of MBs and KTTW cards only.

I haven't found a place in MDE to deactivate or unlink tickets.

It is deactivating the theme park ticket number I click on. I have multiple park tickets and I am allowed to deactivate one specific ticket if I choose.

I thought you could only do that if the ticket hasn't yet been used. Have your deactivated tickets been used for a day yet? I'm too nervous to add my non-expiration tickets to MDE until the absolute last minute.

You are correct. My understanding is the OP has a non expiring ticket linked to MDE but not activated (used yet). The OP wants to activate the 4 day ticket not the non expiring ticket. There wouldn't be a point to the OP activating a 4 day ticket if they already have a non expiring in use.

I had 2 each of old non-expiry days for both DH & myself & added them to my MDE some time ago. (Decided to yet again hold the AP vouchers we bought before the PAP offer, since originally we were only planning on visiting the parks for two days, with MNSSHP another day.)

Problem with the special 4-park, 4 day tix is you don't receive a hard copy that you could use to enter the park in lieu of magic band. You receive the number to associate with your MDE.

I'm planning on visiting GS outside each park we visit, then again inside to make sure the 4 park tix have been used vs the older MYW ones. Will likely get old fast but at least when 'there' if the wrong tix is deducted it can still be fixed

I do not know the answer to your question - sorry.

thank you, I guess i'll find out soon enough.

OP here. The non expiring ticket IS active with 7 of the 10 days left. The point if buying the 4 day ticket (even though we have a non expiring active ticket), is that the cost per day for the 4 day ticket is just over $50 ,whereas for the non expiring ticket it is over $80.
