Hi All,

My family is about to close on a Boardwalk Villas Resale at the end of September. We are all very excited about our new home - we stayed at the Boardwalk in January 2000 for the Disney Marathon and LOVED IT.

Question - since we have not closed yet on the DVC - I was wondering how to check availabilty for the Boardwalk Villas? Is there a general number where I can get some information to gauge availability? We are thinking of going in Jan 03 and need a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom for 4 days. Is it going to be hard to get if we wait until we close (ie the end of Sept)?

Thanks for the help. I have read through alot of threads and find this board very helpful.

And Welcome to The DIS!

Sorry, I don't have a good answer to your question.

To check the availability for points reservations, the only source is Member Services and you must have your membership number (and a name that matches as a member on that account) to use their services. Your only really option is to find a member who either knows or will check the availability for you.

Sully,

Congrats and Welcome Home!

Is your resale broker a DVC member by chance? I'm sure they would call member services for you and check availability.

Unfortunately, until you have a member number, member services won't help you.

Kind regards,
Shontell

I would still be very cautious. What's available today may not be available when you're able to book it.

This is why I tend to discourage this type of request. Hopefully, you will be able to get what you need, but you won't know for a certainty until you're able to book it yourself.

I wouldn't worry about it until you receive your membership number. If BWV is unavailable, you can waitlist. There also is a very good chance that you would be able to get reservations at OKW........it's quiet over there:rolleyes:, but the rooms are nice:) ......

Thanks for the info all. I guess we will just wait and see. Hopefully we will see some of you in January.

I can't believe no one gave you the right answer yet.

January is a very slow time for DVC. I am sure that you will get something when making reservations for Jan in September. The only thing I wouldn't get my hopes up on is a standard view at BWV. I am pretty confident that you will get into BWV, I am sure you will get in somewhere.

It will be hard to judge/predict availability at BWV until the outside rehab work gets done. The rooms with the scaffolding are not available to guests. From what I've read here, the rehab work will continue into 2003. By then, they should be working on the standard view rooms.

I still think you will get into BWV, especially if some of the days are weekend nights. You might have to use the waitlist for some of the days, but it should eventually come through for you. January is not nearly as popular with DVC members as the other times in the Adventure and Choice seasons.

Good luck AND

Congratulations and Welcome Home!
