Just finished browsing through the Members' Website and noticed these new perks. Sorry if it's a repeat. I knew about the Cape May dining discount, but the Artist's Point and Basin discounts were news to me. I'm happy about the discount at Artist's Point - we had a great meal there the last time we visited.

Cape May Café

Artist Point Dining at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Basin
Basin, the newest store at Downtown Disney Marketplace, offers Members a 10% discount on specialty soaps, bath crystals, lathering shampoo bars, and custom candles.

Artist's Point just came on last week, Basin maybe last month.

Did you also see the write-up about the member pin trading?

I don't think the Cape May deal is new.

I used a 10% DVC discount at a Cape May Dinner in Dec 2002. And it's the first discount listed in a listing of DVC discounts for 2002 I saved in a Word file. So I have no idea why it is listed as new on the member site. Perhaps it was inactive for the first half of this year?

The other two appear to be new.

We went to Basin during our June 24 -July 4 trip and I knew about the discount before the trip. Made it a point to go there and use the discount.

Basin discount has been around since the beginning of the year.Used it in april.

We'll be staying at the Grand Floridian, using POINTs...I know...it's a long story.

Do DVC Perks apply if your staying using Disney Collection???

erikthewise..... For some odd reason the Cape May Cafe discount fell off the perks list for awhile! It was there the first time we stayed at BCV, but the 2nd time we stayed there, it was no longer a perk. I am glad to see that it is back!

I wish I would have known about the Artist's Pointe discount when we ate there last week! Oh well....I'll keep it in mind when we go back for the F&WF in October!

Pam,

Can you tell me a little more about this?

Thanks,
Lisa

If you go to Basin, make sure you have your BLUE membership card. They would not take the room key marked as a member. Glad I had mine with me... :)

The details are on the member site but here's some of the info.

It's called "Play the Summer Vacation Pin Trading Game" and starts August 10.

It says you get a game board and either make pin trades or correctly answer Disney trivia questions at 7 locations to receive a stamp.

The locations are:
Disney's Pin Traders at Downtown Disney® Marketplace
Pin Central at Epcot®
Town Square Exposition Hall at Magic Kingdom® Park
Island Mercantile at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park
Fantasia at Disney's Contemporary Resort
Sorcerer's Hat Shop or Movieland Memorabilia at Disney-MGM Studios
D Sports at Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex

Get all 7 stamps and turn in the board at Pin Traders to win a free pin

Also, special Summer Vacation pins will be available for sale including a special pin just for DVC members. This pin will show Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Pluto enjoying their day at Disney's BoardWalk Villas. Exclusively for Disney Vacation Club Members, the pin will be available at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Old Key West Resort, and Disney's Wilderness Lodge merchandise locations only while supplies last. (Members will need to show their Disney Vacation Club Member Card to purchase the pin.)
