New DVC member purchased VGF now want resale...

Hi all,

I bought 50 points at VGF this week. I wanted in...now I'm in...

I know 50 is low but my thought was to start low because I only travel solo with my 2 young boys so I don't need a big room YET plus I will only use it every other year. Off years will be spent closer to home or somewhere other than WDW.

I plan to buy resale in the next year or so to get more points and another home resort...I'm looking at BWV or AKL. I know getting a studio is hard so I'm looking for "best options". Any tips or advice?

Wait to buy until you have stayed at all of the resorts first. What may look good on paper, feels different when you stay there.

The best values in WDW are with BWV standard view and AKV value villas. Either would be great but you must commit to planning and booking at your 11 month window. These are popular and they go fast. Buy where you want to stay is what they say here.

If you don't mind where you stay, can't plan early and just want more points look at SSR resale. Most bank for your buck.

We own at both. I have yet to get an AKV value villa, even at the 11 month window. Have only had a hard time getting BWV standard view during the first 2 weeks of Dec. Otherwise, most of the time I can get them at 11 months.

Oooh, I would be a tad upset about the AKV value. This would be the main reason for me to own AKV since most people have good luck with savanna view at 7 months. OP, pay attention.
