Hello. We just purchased at SSR and made a reservation for a few nights in May at Hilton Head for a dedicated 2 bedroom. Is there a place to get tips for room requests? Where are detailed resort maps located?

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Regards,
Bryan

You can see a map in your guide. We just got back this week and we saw a couple of buildings that we thought would be nice. I'm not sure of the numbers but they are the two buildings close to the lodge on the boardwalk with a clear view of the marsh. I would suggest second floor (these are all 2 bedrooms I believe). We were in bldg 29 with a marsh view (lots of trees so you couldn't see much). However, very quiet and nice. There are no bad rooms but I think marsh view is best.

The resort is not very large, and IMHO there are no "bad" locations. Poolside is farther away from the front desk and Big Murgies Den and vice-versa. Marsh views are awesome, but so are the views of the marina. If you have an island view room, it's like looking out on your own backyard and seeing your neighbors walk by....

It all depends on what is most important to you, but you really can't go wrong with any of the views! (Can you tell I like this resort a lot?? And that I'm chomping at the bit to get there next week??? <G>)

mydogdrew - I believe those buildings are 14 and 15 with the clear marsh view. I have stayed in one of those and the view of the fireworks (which begin in June on Tuesday nites) was totally unobstructed.

Hi-
Here is link to allearsnet.com for resort map and you will also find other pix of the resort here.

I don't think there's a bad location- we stayed last year in Building 25, overlooked the pool and you could see the pier and marsh beyond that. Lovely.

We'll be there in about 10 days and cannot wait.

thanks all, really looking forward to this. anyone have any golf advice? i have been hunting the web for a "best courses of hilton head " subjective ranking to no avail...

Just this morning I was looking at the January issue of Travel + Leisure's Golf Magazine in my dentist's office waiting room. That issue had a nice Hilton Head article. Here's the link:

Golf Magazine article

DH has golfed several courses at HH. Also, Matt, who works the front desk there, recommended going to 2 of the Palmetto Dunes courses right across the street-Robert Trent Jones and Arthur Hill. For 2 BRs at the resort, several people have mentioned loving the views from the last building at the end (Building 31). However, this building is not as close to the pool as some others.

WELCOME HOME, NEIGHBOR!
Glad to see that all the analysis - and question.asking - led you to the DVC and SSR!

Congratulations & WELCOME HOME!!!:bounce:

Sorry we were a bit slow to welcome you home....the title of the thread threw me off a bit since I don't know anything about HH! :)

Enjoy your DVC membership!

Congratulations and Welcome Home!

We went to HH in February and had a 2 bedroom #1511 with a great marsh view. The room was perfect and from what I understand, it is a perfect room for a view of the fireworks in the summer months.

Enjoy

We just checked OUT of 1511 this morning. :( You're right -- it IS a great location. I especially like the extra porch space....

I miss it already. ;)
