New DVC Member (FINALLY)!

Just the other day we got confirmation that our deed was recorded. 220 points at VB. My only regret was that I did not access this board before we went down (end of November/early December. I would have known better and bought at the resort where we would want to stay most. I feel somewhat suckered in by the deal at VB. Should have remembered that you always get what you pay for!(Maybe I can buy more points at BCV when available!)
I resisted buying at first - $$$, son was getting older (he's 13 now), other options for vacation, etc.. But now we have spent the last six winter Vacations at WDW, and could have probably bought many more points with all the $$$ we spent.We were blessed with a second child last February, and that sealed the deal for me. Now I have an excuse to go to WDW for many more years to come!
We can't wait to plan our first vacation (we took a cruise and stay last vacation at Beach Club - planning another cruise and trip for the little one to MK).
As a little boy I never missed the Wonderful World of Disney - and my favorite shows were when they toured Disneyland. I never got to go as a child, so I'm making up for lost time!
I have enjoyed reading many of your posts - just wish I had time to read many more. Any more Buckeye DVC'ers feel free to e-mail!

Welcome Home!!! I hope you don't plan to travel during the holidays or other busy seasons, because that will make it difficult to get what you want in WDW at the 7 month window. If you don't care which DVC resort you stay at, I am sure you will get a room at the 7 month window, but it might not be at BWV. We own at OKW, and love that resort. We like the separate entrance and townhouse type setting as well as the larger units and lower points for a stay. Many people complain about the buses at OKW, but we don't find them to be a problem. Enjoy!

welcome home - I brought in 93, I had just taken my brother and his kids to WDW, my nephew say that he could stay there forever - that did it I brought a week later from home. We have all for the past 7 years enjoyed every minute we spend there - I know you will too.

Don't worry about buying at Vero. Be flexible with your vacation times and choice of WDW resorts and you'll be just fine.

Welcome Home from 10 miles North. We bought in 98 at HH and have never regretted a minute. We have never had a problem staying at the resort we wanted, with the room size we wanted, on the dates we wanted. There are certain time of year at certain resorts that are tough (not impossible) to get into without the 11 month window, ie. Christmas at BWV, Studio at HH in July, but your not going to get locked out of WDW because you do not have the 11 month window.

Beside, VB is a wonderful resort and a lot of people combine a couple of days there with there WDW vacation.
