New DVC Member - 1st Reservation Question

We recently closed on VWL re-sale and would like to make (try to make) our 1st reservation. Do we have to wait for our membership card to show up with our member number on it or can Member Services look us up another way? I know it can take a bit for the card to arrive..Any info would be appreciated!

You don't need the card to make a reservation. All you'll need is your membership number (not the same as the contract number) and the last four digits of your social security number. When we bought resale the agent was able to tell us the membership number.

My guess is that MS could find you without the membership number too. If they can confirm your identity and you are in the system, you should be good to go.

As long as you are in Disney's system, you can make reservations, bank, borrow, etc. It might take several weeks before you see the cards.
