new DVC member...1 question

just bot 300 pts at AKV..... going home for the 1st time the week of Easter ( staying at the VWL.. go figure )... the week cost us 275 pts. What, other than banking, could i do with the 25 pts remaining.... i think we can use points and have my fridge stocked when i get there.. true? is there a points chart for that = $/pts.... can i recieve a discount on park passes OTHER then annual passes.... what else can you use points for ?

Points can only be used for reservations whether at a DVC resort, cruise, etc.
You cannot exchange points for cash to buy groceries. You may be thinking of posts where a member is either renting out or transferring points to another member. Check out the rent/trade board for info. I would suggest banking them.

Only discount on tickets is on the annual pass.

As far as I know you can either have another day added and borrow points from next year if you need more for that day or bank them into next year. I have never heard of using them to stock your frig. I do know that you can have your frig stocked if you use one of several grocery buying services. You can deposit them into Interval International for a trip in the future, but it takes the total number you need for that trip. There isn't anything you can do with the points except use them for the place you stay. You could try renting them on the board here. Someone may need 25 points. You do get many discounts for your DVC membership but it doesn't require you to use your points. It is just a perk of the memebership. I hope when you bought into DVC you got all the information you needed to make a good decision. I hope you didn't get the wrong idea about the points. As for discounts on park passes, I am not sure what is happening with that now but I know you can't get special prices with the points. I am sure someone can give you that information. I don't mean to cause confusion, but did you get incentive points when you bought? If you did, you'll want to make sure you use those points for your ressie, the MS cm won't automatically see those points. Incentive/developer points can't be banked, and have an expiration (lately 12months).
