NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

I would like to know what the offerings in conceirge at the Dolphin are. Debating this option.

I also was told no balcony or 2Bdrm exec. suite avail with conceirge service, although there are 2 bdrm exec suites avail to book.

Call the Dolphin directly and you will find out that you can recieve CL privs and be located off of the CL floors. DS just got back from the Dolphin last week. He had CL privs and was on the east wing. He did say it was a hike to go to the lobby, change elevators to get to CL in the morning. It was worth it to have the east wing view, corner king room with a double balcony though! You should not have a problem getting an executive suite and CL. It is done all the time at the Dolphin. You must be calling starwood's central reservations? Try the Dolphin directly. Good luck!

RobMax, Glad to hear you are enjoying the Swan! Tell us everything! Why do you think the dolphin's CL is better? The Dolphin is defiantly my favorite so I am happy to hear your news! Have a wonderful time and post back when you get a chance!

DF, love the picture of your new house guest! I have a soft spot for little creatures too! Give him a gently pat for me!

Hi, Ozzie and Mouseteacher! Yes, Mouseteacher, it is finally spring in Boston! We will be in Medford this monday (memorial day) to visit DS's new apartment. Can't wait as I love the Boston area! I have all kinds of household goodies packed for his new place! Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

Muffy

RobMax ~ Keep the Mouse News and S/D news coming. I love living WDWvicariously!

Muffy ~ we're in the cold and rain AGAIN!!!and through the wekend, too! Ahhhh - Medford- my "childhood" city.

Caitlin ~ Welcome and no...you're not crazy to stay at S/D - you're crazy like a fox. ;)

DF ~ Awwww how sweet your special house guest is.

lonegungirl ~ you can fit a rollaway in the room w/the 2 doubles. They do charge extra for the rollaway. However, I have read some posts where some have received the rollaway at no extra charge.

RobMax....that sounds like the room we stayed in at Christmas. But it was 1280! It was in the west corner, closest to MGM. Had a HUGE bathroom, could have put a rollaway in there. Has it been remodeled? Would love to see pics of it. We really enjoyed it. It was the opposite end of the CL lounge. I hope you are having a wonderful time.......sorry to hear about the Poly....we really enjoyed that resort when we had a lagoon view.....it is now out of our price range, even with codes! Keep us posted!

Hi Muffy......have been a bit busy, getting ready for the end of school. My water field day is next Wed.(for all 600 kids, with 200 parent volunteers) Wondering if I am getting too old to keep this up! Have a nice Mem. Day weekend. I have 6 days of school left! Yea.....I am ready for a trip!

DF: I love your photos of Toulouse! The year I was graduating university (Yikes! Almost 10 years ago...) I was driving to an exam, and something was tumbling across a very busy intersection. It was a baby duck! Tiniest one I've every seen. It's beak was only the size of my pinkie fingernail! You couldn't imagine the mayhem it caused; cars pulling over, horns honking, it was CRAZY! I jumped out of the car and scooped it up--no mama in sight.

To make a long story short, I took it home to my farm and raised it for about 6 months, until it flew away on my birthday in October of that year. It came back every spring, but this time with a lady friend in tow! :D

RobMax:
Not a pub gals - no spell or gramar check!!!
Thanks for the chuckle! So glad you've been reunited with your family--you must have missed them so much. :(

Debbie: Now I planned on asking for 1270! But don't worry. I'll be out by the 18th! ;) :p

Thanks to all the tips I got here, we've successfully been upgraded to Gold Preferred SPG! Hurray! A great bonus for the extra points alone, not to mention upgrades. We've already booked a CL room at the Swan (which was our top priority), so a great view or (gasp! a Jr Suite!) would be icing on the cake. Thanks again you guys! You're grrrrrrr-eat!

Goodmorning all!!
Prof. love thoses postings from the world, makes me feel like i'm there instead of back to reality!

hookedup- all the rooms now have high-speed access you don't have to special request it and there isn't any additional fees.

Just an FYI when we were at the dolphi in April, hotel at near 100% capacity there were no view rooms on CL so the CM offered me a king with a pull out or the room we took on the 18th floor overlooking epcot and mgm. Our room also used central elevators for the distance to CL was a breeze.

Hi , I have a question for you all.. I booked with Hotwire and got the great deal of $81 for the swan - does anyone know if you extend your stay if they will honor that rate ? I do not qualify for any other discounts ( I can change flights and save $$ use on hotel for one extra night and break even.. ) thanks Michelle

Muffy...thanks for the tip about asking...I'll wait until I check in to ask....though I was calling Swandolphin ressies direct and not SPG...but it can't hurt to ask....

YES..they do. It's located around the corner from the front desk...towards the convention area. ;)

MY TRIP IS LOOMING...CLOSER & CLOSER! I try not to concentrate on the timer...Or I'll FREAK W/EXCITEMENT!! LOL. Is it time to BREAK-OUT the LUGGAGE? :p

Hello everyone...

After reading so many positive things about the Swan, I'm really looking forward to our trip in June. I'm new to SPC and was wondering if it's possible to get an upgrade without any points. We have reservations at the Hampton Inn on the 1st night due to late arrival. I'm wondering if it's worth it to change to a SPC site to receive points before checking into the Swan. How quickly are points posted to your account? I got a really great rate at Hampton Inn and if it's possible to upgraded w/o points, I'll keep my reservation.

Thanks for all of the great info and beautiful pictures. By the way, am I dreaming to think I can be upgrade to the CL w/o points. I'd be happy for a resort view.

23 days and counting!!!

YES, Zurgswife, 5th floor or above for the best views!

MomPoppins, glad to hear you and your little one are hanging tough! Keep the good news coming and God bless you both.

Well, it's down to the wire for us! "Hey, where IS the luggage?" :( :o  :p ;)

I have been away from this board for a few weeks, and am lost about this Fairytale package. Is the Swan/Dolphin included? It doesn't look like it from the Disneyworld site, but the DU link DOES list it as one of the options??

BettyC

DF99 Thanks I am glad to hear that , I would gladly pay for access if it fills the boat !! Michelle

BettyC - It should only be Disney owned hotels. If I could swing a couple of grand in the budget I would have booked the GF in a flash - it would probably be the cheapest we could ever stay there!

But.....I'll take a short close to home trip and wait till next year for the Swan........

pmcnulty ~ YES - It is possible to get CL w/o points. It happened for us last summer - dreams can come true. Just ask at check in or e mail the Swan asking for a comp upgrade. Oh... and WELCOME to the DIS.

Happytrails ~ Let the magic begin! :Pinkbounc

Hello, all. My family and I should be at Disney World 2 weeks from tomorrow and I can't wait. I'm 36 today and this is my first trip to DW. We are staying at the Dolphin. I'm hoping to use points, my SPG gold status, and charm to upgrade us to club level and maybe even a suite. We haven't made definite plans as to what parks we are visiting each day so I haven't made any PS's for a character breakfast for my 4-year old son. He loves Chip and Dale and would like to see them. If we aren't able to make the Character Breakfast at the Coral Cafe at the Dolphin on Sunday morning, can the concierge help me get a PS for another Chip and Dale character breakfast somewhere else in the park? Do they have access to last minute seats that a "normal" person might not have access to?

Any other tips that might be useful would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Donnie
