Thanks, DF, for our "new beginning". Our comraderie is a bright ray of sunshine in my day! Your Easter meal sounds delicious. If I weren't 3000 miles away, I'd stop by with plate in hand! ;)
DITTO on the comraderie. You would be welcomed into our home w/plate in hand...especially bearing some of the "tiramisu" you'll be enjoying today! :p P.S. "I'd LOVE the Easy-make recipe for your dessert. Feel FREE to PM me the details." Thanks...^_^

Oh, Anne...you DID have to mention "KEY LIME PIE"...one of my all-time-favs!! For any/all of you planning a trip on the Western Magic, make SURE to stop at the Famous KEY LIME shop in Key West for the giant "Chocolate dipped" wedge of FROZEN PIE on a stick! I'm nearly drooling just thinking of it! LOL....:p

*Best place for #1 voted Key Lime Pie in Orlando is the Outback Restaurant in the Wyndham Palace. Outstanding! ;)

Ozzie...one more day here too. Spring break is too BRIEF! Hope you have a delicious dinner with family/friends. :)

Disneybride...as MT wrote, the specialty discounts are much better than the AP/Ent. Rate discounts of 50% off the rack rate.

WDW2000...HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP! I'll be awaiting your post from INSIDE the MAGIC, and the notes on your check-in, Corner King, etc. ENJOY, and stay safe. ;) :sunny:

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!

I am looking over my paperwork and I am wondering if I am paying too much and should stay at a different property or if I got a decent rate...

I got a rate of 224 for club level at the swan (3 adults)...with tax and the resort charge that comes to 259.76...
I found code AEF which, if I took a standard room at the Beach Club or another in the epcot resort area would be 255 with tax etc...but it wouldn't be club level

To me it seems I should just stay where I am at, but I was wondering if I am paying too much?

Well we are back after 7 nights at the Swan! WE LOVED IT!! What a wonderful, beautiful, perfectly run hotel. I got the gov. rate and got a beautiful room in the west wing with a balcony and a view of the walkway between the two hotels and a swan fountain below (room 3003). I have to say this was the BEST Disney vacation we ever had. The Swan operated at a notch above the Disney properties IMHO, just perfect. The grounds were amazing and soooo tropical, like paradise.

Thank you all for all the tips and advice, any questions please ask away, I would love to give you any and all info!

Emmy:D

Emme,

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The Swan is very nice. I was wondering how you enjoyed the recently renovated room and if the halls have been re-done yet? On our last stay, the halls on the 12th floor were a bit "tired".

I saw this post and was hoping that someone would beable to answer my question.

I got on dream unlimited's web site and saw that with an Annual Pass, that I could stay at in a club level room Concierge for my Dec 26 to Jan 3 stay for 236.94 a night (1895.52) which is better than any "disney" resort is offering for this time period. The fact that I can walk to epcot and MGM is a plus.

Would a single person like myself enjoy this place? Also, what other room types have any of you stayed at?

Any information would be great.

RAV, no the hallway on the 3rd floor was not redone, that was obvious, but they were still cute and whimsical.

The heavenly bed was incredible...it swallowed you and contoured to your body...it was, well, heavenly;)

Leave tomorrow for the Dolphin! Hoping to get my room requests for King Corner Room - I'll post and let you know how my request goes as well as answer any questions once I check-in.

You are there! Hope you are in that King Corner Room ;)

I have asked this previously, but haven't really gotten a response, so I will ask again.

I got the Dolphin for the $81/night rate from Hotwire. I am soooo excited and can't wait until June. However, because of the great rate I am not expecting any upgrades (which is ok. the price is more important to me.) So, what do you think is the best standard room. I can check in early (we are staying at the DTD Marriott the three nights before free with Marriott rewards) and we are willing to wait for a room.

I have the Starwood Preferred Guest card and am working on getting them to match my Marriott elite status, so I may have Gold level by June. Do you think there is any chance of upgrading from a Hotwire price? Has anyone been upgraded with a priceline/hotwire deal?

Also, on a related note. I know I won't get points for my hotel stay because of hotwire, but can I still get points for meals, etc?

Maggie

:p "Shhhh..." This is a HUGE point of contention on these boards! We "Swan-Dolphin Lovers" enjoy keeping the superior service and level of contentment under wraps. LOL (JK...). ;) :p

So glad you had such a magical stay. I agree with you all the way, and actually have trepidation when staying anywhere else (as most PALE in comparison). :)

Maggie...even meals, etc., while staying under the Hotwire rate do not qualify for any points. UNLESS...you are using a Starwood Preferred Guest AMEX card...then, you will recieve points irregardless of the discount! I'm not sure of the BEST standard room available, but just gently & kindly "remind" the front desk associate you are there on "PLEASURE" and not business. They will do their BEST for you. :)

jaw62901...YES, I would believe so. ;) Concierge at the Swan is wonderful.

2002Disneybride..."When are you planning to visit?"

TREKKER!!! "7" MORE~! Thanks for playing the "official" counter! ;)

We are leaving in 24 days! May 15-19.
We have club level booked...

I haven't stayed there yet......but I am really looking forward to my solo trip! I don't see why it wouldn't be great for you. I especially like the location. I've stayed at Fort Wilderness Cabins, All Star and Carribean Beach before-----really looking forward to this time---less than 6 weeks to go! Woo Hoo!

Wow, almost into the t-minus 30-something days and counting:p Sorry to take up space, I just had to see the timer:D

I still believe this is a pretty good deal, especially for CLUB LEVEL (w/all the renovations and Heavenly beds...ahhh). ;)
If you read Emme's report on her recent visit, along with others on this thread...you'll agree. Just having MAMA T to greet you each morning is..."PRICELESS"! :)

Pocah...I do not believe so. BUT...if you have a camera, and bring/purchase the connections...you may view/use it with the T.V. in your room. Also, there are a number of older, as well as feature films available through a pay-per-view service. The cost ranges in price, but the average is $10. We always take in a flick or two on a late rainy eve, with a piping HOT cheesy pizza delivered from Tubbi's! :)

jay...LOL! Yes...it's getting closer to LAUNCH TIME! Are you concentrating on gathering and packing? I have about two months left...and I'm beginning to get jittery with excitement. Even dreamed about WDW & DD last eve. She was following the parade in the MK, and singing the song...as the parade winded-down. Mickey & Minnie both blew her kisses, and she blew them back. From behind, she appeared to be about 5 (a scene I actually witnessed with her at this age). Yet, when she turned to look at me, she was 15 (current age), and tears were streaming down her cheeks. She said, "It's the same feeling I had when I was little. Oh, Mommy...I never want to grow old." This comment tore at my heart strings. When I awoke...and realized it was a dream...I was a bit relieved. Yet...I know inside she is somewhat sentimental. Today was her last vacation day of the Easter Holiday. She planned a surprise outing with me...and we went to see the PIGLET movie! We had a GREAT time together...laughing at the silliness and nonsense of Pooh & the Gang. These are the ties which bind. The MAGIC Walt created...which is an integral part of our lives...forever. ;)

I was contacted today by Bob with Dream Unlimiteds DreamRes department and was told that since they have not recieved there Jan 2004 room allotment yet for Swan, I can only book my stay from Dec 26 to Dec 31 and then in August the Dec 31 to Jan 3 rooms should be out. at 236.94 a night, I don't think that I will be able to beat that rate, but I am a little nervous about making part of my reservation now and the other 3 days later in hopes that there will be club level rooms available at the Swan.

Also, do the club level rooms have the heavenly beds and a balcany or are those in other room types.

Please let me know what you all thinks

Thanks

Jason

Hi everyone!
My DD and I are so excited we are leaving in 10 days. Going down a day early! I was just wondering if there are any restaurants that are a must do at the Swan or Dolphin? Also, the straight A club for kids...do you get that at the front desk?
Also, any other helpful tips or advice would be great! It'll be our first stay at the Dolphin. :)
Thanks!
Steph
