DF, I will give you the particulars about the Vistana timeshare tour when I get back! DH and I couldn't turn down the 10,000 points! They are picking us up in a towncar, providing breakfast and a 90 min tour. We leave in 3 days for our 2 week vacation at WDW. We will be at the Dolphin 7 nights and AKL 7 nights. I can't wait to visit both. I really think we will love the Dolphin jr. suite and location! Walking to Epcot and MGM will be so convienient! Yes, I am busy taking down the tree and putting everything away. It is such a happy time of year! Can't wait for NYE at WDW! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

DF99 & Muffy -- I may try to squeeze in an early-morning tour as well. Bob from SPG called again, because I wouldn't commit the first time he called. I still couldn't commit because my littlest is sick, and I'm not sure we're going to make in onto the plane this evening! I still have to call the airline & see what can be worked out... Anyway, IF we make it, I'll let you know more about it!
Enjoy the New Year, everybody!

about your sick little one, adf2. :( Sure hope the airlines are sympathetic as well. I wish you well, and am glad you are taking such good care of your child. Nothing, (no...not even WDW) is more important than the health of our children. Hope everything goes okay...and you make it there with a happy & healthy recovered child. Keep a positive outlook, and nurture, as you have been. I'll be thinking of you, and appreciate your offer for assistance with the Vistana thing!:)

Thanks Muffy! I will look forward to hearing from you about the Vistana tour. I wish you a WONDERFUL stay, and am positive you'll LOVE the Jr. Suite and Swan. Enjoy the MAGIC & all the FESTIVITIES!

HAPPY NEW YEAR...to all! ;)

I will begin to "de-decorate" our trees on New Year's Day. I have gradually put away some of the smaller decorations strewn about the house. I have transformed my kitchen from Christmas to winter theme items. I put snowmen on my hutch and kitchen table - they are carrying skis and one has a sign that says "Think Snow". The tablerunner is a winter theme one.

My guest powder room, also, continues the snowman theme. The color scheme is burgundy and blue. Towels are burgundy with snowflakes embroidered on them.

I have been taking it easy after hosting three dinner parties including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I did hit the sales at the mall yesterday. I went early when it was relatively quiet. By the time I was ready to leave, the lines were long at the registers. Yipee! DH and I were invited to a New Year's Eve dinner at my cousin's house! Now I can relax. :)

Happy New Year to you all!

Our Christmas dinner discussion revolved around a possible entire family trip to Disney this August. It would include my father and my 2 DBs and their families and my family (14 of us). We have done this twice before and our table talk was on recalling the wonderful times we had together on these trips. Of course, we spoke about staying at the Dolphin since my last trip with one DB and his family was so much fun and we loved the resort. On our previous trips we stayed at the CR and BWI.

It's so much fun to share "Disney memories" as we call them and dream about planning new ones!

Your home sounds so lovely. I have all my Christmas decorations still up...including all the Radko in the hutch/trees and F & F on the tables and buffets! I love Christmas...and usually keep my formal faux tree up until late Jan/early Feb! :p

Next year, I'm buying my tree via the net, from a farm in the Eastern area. I LOVE the Noble fir...and want an 8+ footer. they ship these cleaned and FRESH overnight to my door. Nothing better than that!

We too, talked about all of our DISNEY MEMORIES. We also chatted about our plans for this summer, and have our friends and neighbors counting on another visit as well! LOL. DISNEY-ITIS is CONTAGEOUS! ;)

Take care, and continue to enjoy the Season. I have to go our back and "round-up" the two bun-buns. I let them run free in the yard today (cabin-fever from being cooped in the cages too long) and a big storm is moving in to the area. It is so funny to try and catch them...they play games and come close~then jump! We have a huge "California" rabbit, and a Foo-Foo "English Angora" too! He looks so funny running free. His parents are Champion Show rabbits...and his coat is stunning! Wish me luck. Enjoy the Eve..stay bundled and warm. TTFN....:)

well, no powerball for me either! Someone tell me why I took that flu shot too since I just spent 40 hours flat on my back with the flu!

Oh, well - maybe next time!

Regardless, I think I'll take the $50 I won on a scratch off and stick it in my Disney fund! I miss the Swan soooo much!!! (got to keep these posts on topic so we don't get yelled at!!!).

Anyone reading the interesting thread about the Dolphin secrets? Cute!!! I'd personally love to see a monorail thru the middle but that will be the day!

Hey - can you post that lilnk ... PLEASE!?! :bounce:

Hi DF! I guess the bun-buns are in addition to the duck-ducks. You have quite a farm! If you order Christmas trees from the East Coast please make sure they have the proper agricultural certificates for entry into California. We will not accept trees into the state without proper certs. Since we are planning our next WDW trip at the Swan then Miami/Brilliance of the Seas for 2004, I guess I will be hanging around until then. Please e-mail if you have any questions regarding agricultural imports(LOL):D

Happy Holidays everyone!
I am on the verge of planning our trip in May.
I will be using points to upgrade this time. Anyone know if there is a dif. between the Jr. Suite at the Swan versus one at the Dolphin? I'm leaning toward the swan this time for the heavenly beds, just not sure yet.

I am a "Stickler" for the AG import rules and regs! I'll insure they pass the inspections and have the proper certs...I would never do anything to violate these laws which insure a safe & healthy STATE! ;) Yes...bun-buns are in addition to the Duck-Ducks, and the two registered (Ca. F & G) desert tortoise, fish, felines and canines, chinchilla...etc. DD also works with raptors (feathered) and rehab of these magnificent creatures. I was successful in capturing the two wild lapins this eve...and they are safe and sound in the house (as the storm sets in with high winds and rain). My DS cares for most of the "farm" while we are vacationing @ WDW, Dolphin, etc.

I wrote all about the "monorail" mystery in the initial thread of this theme! The initial cost is reportedly a million a foot, (monorail). So...it will be a while before we see this occur. Although, I did have inside info the Board at SW "tossed" it around...and have never completely shelved the idea. One can always D-R-E-A-M. :p

jgates...I wondered WHERE you were? Sorry to read you caught the flu (awful). Nyquil (if you can keep it down) works wonders during the bed-ridden time. Hope you are feeling better.

Shelly...I believe there is a minor difference, not anything drastic. The Swan is a lovely property...and the heavenly beds are worth the venture. It's difficult to drag oneself out from under the duvet and fluffy down....ahh.....San Francisco was pure heaven! ;)

LOL...Bobby DiNiro is hosting SNL. It's too funny. Enjoy the weekend...and the SNOW on the East Coast! :)

We leave tomorrow morning for the Dolphin and AKL! I can't believe the time has finally arrived for our 2 week vacation to WDW! Back in the magical world of disney just in time for NYE! I have been planning this trip for over 6 mos! I did call the Dolphin yesterday to verify our room and was told we have a Jr. Suite, CL on the west wing. Of course I told her I would prefer the far east wing. She said no gaurantees but I am still hopeful. BTW, is the west wing undesirable? If it is may prepare to get a little pushy for the east wing! Afterall, we are Plat SPG! Thank you DF99 and Ozziewags for all the great advice! You have no idea how helpful you have been! Please get back to me about the west wing if you have time! Thanks!

Muffy

ddawg, We used 70,000 starwood points and cash for 7 nights at the Dolphin. I'm getting a Jr. Suite because of Platinum Status. It is an automatic upgrade.

Muffy,
I sure hope my family gets to meet yours while we are there. Remember to wear your green ribbon!

Troyfus, my green ribbon will be on my guide bag! I will be on the lookout for you guys! Have a safe trip!

The extra special views from the East wing make it desirable alright but the West wing isn't undesirable at all. Alot matters on who is with you. When we go with kids, (all ages) we prefer the West wing. You are much closer to Tubby's, the pool, the laundry, the game room and the health studio.

OK- had a real nightmare last night. Dreamt that when we got to the dolphin all the rooms were full so we couldn't use spg points to upgrade and wouldn't get an upgrade despite plat. status. Talk about a bad dream, I even got into an arguement with the front desk, explained to them starwoods told me to upgrade at checkin no before. Thank god I woke up!!

Anyone picked up a new teacher or govt rate for 2003? Time to start planning again. :)
