Is the Junior Suite worth the 10,000/pts. per nite to upgrade?

What time does the Club Lounge open in the morning?

What would be a good room to request for a Bacony, Smoking, EPCOT View? Is room 9025 a good one?

Do they have rooms poolside of the grotto pool, are these easy to get to from lobby and are they very very noisy?

Has room 9025 or any poolside rooms been renovated?

Thank you for your reply I will try again.

Mouseteacher I hope your ankle is better soon.

poohbear7 let me know if it works for you. I just can't seem to get there. Thanks!:Pinkbounc

I was upgraded to gold but already had spg plat. plus status. I did it all thru email without any glitches. We do have 3 american express cards but I was never asked to verify accounts or anything. Also none of the accounts are the real expensive ones
mouseteacher- hows the ankle, keep ice on it and rest!!!

Hey Mouseteacher.......sounds like a good reason to be waited on...milk it! Also, ice, rest, elevation! Get well soon.

Thanks, everyone, for your concern and good wishes. I have stayed off my feet all day today. I was becoming a little antsy laying flat all day. I finally needed to get up and have dinner and check the DIS, of course. ;) DH has been terrific in preparing meals and cleaning up. I am thankful that I am on vacation. Hopefully, I'll be back to normal by Monday. The top of my foot is swollen but I can move my toes and foot around so I think it is just a bad sprain. It is not as painful as yesterday.

Mitla ~ can't wait to hear about your trip.

When I was upgraded to gold, I was very honest that I had the Starwood plat. AMEX. The rep said that was fine and upgraded me to Gold. I do believe it depends on who you speak to at any given time. The Preferred Plus level sounds fine, too. I must repeat myself: no matter what, we were thrilled to be in WDW traveling with my DBro and his family and staying in a terrific resort. We are very easily pleased particularly knowing we are in the mouse's house!

Ahhh...nothing like some sunshine and magic to LIFT the spirits! Sounds as if you had a splendid time. I can hardly wait to read your trip report post. Mmmmm....fudge fatale? Tell me more....:p
Glad to read everything is fine w/Chaddie, and you are all back home safe & sound. How's the SNOW? Not so hard to take after the Florida Sunshine, eh? LOL. ;)

Samsa...room 9025 is great. I'm not sure if it's been renovated, but it's a fab location. Poolside suites are wonderful too, and not at all noisy. Access to the lobby, etc. is quick and easy from the West Wing (nearer Grotto Pool). None of the Jr. suites have balconies, but the views on CL are wonderful (both MGM/EPCOT). Trekker wrote a great report after his recent stay, and he could see both areas, far and wide from his room in the Central tower.

Mouseteacher...Sorry again, for the mishap (especially during your winter break!). So glad to read DH is helping you with all the chores and meals. I too, am like you when it comes to WDW, and most everything else. I try to "expect nothing", this way...I'm always surprised! I'm just happy to be in the center of all the MAGIC...and recall the days of yore when $$$ was a bit more tight/meager. We've worked long/hard to be where we are...and have the extra to make the magic last a bit longer. Yet, the level of happiness and satisfaction never truly changes...I'd be just as giddy with excitement if I were in a TENT! I have NEVER let go of the hand of imagination. I have NEVER STOPPED BELIEVING~!!! :p ;) Hope you are much better tomorrow. Here's some extra PIXIE DUST for you...my special Mouse-friend! **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** :sunny: That should do WONDERS!;)

Called to ask about the dolphin renovations, they have only just sarted was the response.
If any of you have been watching the national news our state had a major disaster last evening. A nightclub caught fire and 95 people were tragically killed and another 160 injured. I'm just hoping I don't know anyone involved.

Is anybody familiar with the locations of the Executive Suites(Dolphin)...and do any have a view of Epcot?????

Do any Executive Suites have Access to the Club Lounge....

PS ...What about Grand Suites ...either answer for a Grand Suite at the dolphin.....I've booked a Exec Suite but if the infor for a Grand is better I might switch....

I'm posting this in both the Dolphin thread and SPG because both have people who know a lot! Sorry if this causes any problems.

Hey!

I just read how some people are calling up and getting upgraded to Platinum for free! What number would I call? For those with Platinum, it says you get the best room available, what rooms have you gotten?

Thanks!
Mike

Just a note to say that I am enjoying this site; it is SO active. We will be staying at the Swan for the first time in 18 days and I feel like it is home already.

I'm not sure the grotto pool is open 24 hours. I believe I saw a sign that said the pool closed at 9:00 or 10:00 pm. They do have lifeguards when the pool is open so I can't believe (for liability) they would keep the pool open 24 hours w/o a lifeguard during the late nights. Probably, some guests use the pool and ignore the closed sign.

Hi Mike - the only way I know you can be upgraded to plat without the stays is if you are all ready a plat(or same level) at another hotel chain. I was with Marriott, faxed them the info and they made me plat on the spot. Good move on their part. They get all my business now!

Glenn is RIGHT ON THE $$$ with his post! The best rooms available at the PLAT. Level are the "Junior Suites", which are pretty darned NICE! So, if you are Plat. with any other frequent travel program...please call asap and obtain the SPG upgrade! ;)

Disnurse...I watched the news in Horror...and pray for all the persons whom perished in the fire, and for all the injured still fighting for life. Very tragic. :(

zurgswife...Oh, the Exec. suites are my #1 fav. I do not prefer the Grand suite. The best locations of the Exec. suite, in my own humble opinion, are on the Far East Wing. These offer the best views of EPCOT, BW, YC & BC. From the 6th floor up, they are pretty much unobstructed, and in a corner. Club level access is possible. :)

2002DisneyBride....The grotto pool is OPEN 24 hours, yet the lifeguards are not on duty past the posted hours. Therefore, you are swimming at your own risk. This has ALWAYS been the case with the Dolphin/Swan pools. You are welcome to swim and play (quietly) all/any hours of the night! We always Jump in for a cool-down after a night at the MK (E-Ticket). It's one of the BEST-KEPT secrets at WDW! Security will only be summoned if there is TOO MUCH NOISE. We play volleyball until 2:00 am with other friends, and make some noise...but have never seen security. The rooms are far enough away, and the doors are closed. It's hard to imagine anyone being bothered by persons in the Grotto Pool. Go and Enjoy!! ;)

Mouseteacher...hope you are feeling better, and are up and walking around soon! :)

Could be! Either that or the lap pool is open 24 hrs (which I beleive it is) and they got confused?
That's ok...I think of all the times i have been at Disney I have swam twice?!

LOL. We always plan to do the same and always seem to opt for and extended lunch or dinner or a myriad of things that we can't do at home! :)

So since I am now a Swan SPG plat guy - I have decided and been quoted a great rate to spend the last month of my life in OK at the Westin. Ant they have the "heavenly bed" - So what do you know about these things?
