Has anyone bought one yet ? Do you like it ? I am thinking of buying one , I drove it last night and I really do like the feel of it . It does kind of look like a Mini Van though. I drove the Limited Ed. it was so nice . Leather power and one of those little Tvs with the DVD player . So what do you think ? That Hemi motor is so much better then the P.T. Cruiser I drive now :D

Wishing all a Tagged night

A few points- I'm not sure what your PT Cruiser gets for gas mileage, but you better check what the Hemi gets. You'll be looking at MAYBE 10 mpg on a GOOD day, going down hill, in neutral.

I personally don't like the new Durango's look, it's very "odd" looking...however I can tell you Dodge has good luck with it's motors, though being the first year the new Hemi is out, I doubt I'd buy one...

To fill my DH's tank, it costs about $34. His is a 2001 and gets about 14 MPG. It looks like a truck, drives like a truck and feels like a truck. The new ones look like a mini van, and I agree with the last poster about buying a motor in it's first year.

That being said, if you decide to buy it, I wish you nothing but the best of luck with it.

Don't have any experiences with either of those two cars beyond knowing that the Durango has some serious problems with Oil Sludge buildup that Dodge is denying. They have temporary fixes, but from what I can tell most people can count on replacing their engine during the life of the vehicle.

Good luck with your choice!

I have a 1999 Durango and I have never had any serious problems with it. The motor on the air conditior burned out last summer, but it is going on 5 years old. Be aware that they don't get good gas milage. I get about 12 mpg in the city. Not great! I love the way it drives and it has alot of nice extras, however I will not buy another one. I currently live in Missouri and have been greatful to the 4WD in the snow, but I am moving to Orlando and will not need such a big vehicle. My next one will be smaller.

ok well this is alot to think about . I like it but I dont like that it is a 1st year motor . I had many recalls on this cruiser ! Hated that alot. I guess it is back to the Benz dealer to see what I can get there. I am still on the fence so anything you guys can help me with would be great !

Got a '99 5.9L 4x4. No motor trouble at all. However, I did just have to dump $2300 into it for a new tranny overhaul. I don't complain though, I've blown the trans out of every vahicle I've ever owned and this was the longest I ever got out of one. 90,000 miles. I was in Toronto and the overdrive unit went out on me. I managed to get the truck to roll down the exit ramp onto the 401 and limped down the shoulder of the highway, revving the engine, until I was finally able to get it to kick into gear. Finally got it to go and nursed it home to Chicago.

trans rebuilder was surprised to see that I hadn't burned up the drums. Burned up everything else in it though (LOL!! I knew I was going to, but I also knew it had to come apart anyway, so what they hey). Had the shop yank it apart, throw it up on the bench and the rebuilder had it ready to reinstall by the next morning. Had my truck back that next evening and left for WDW the following weekend. Got 5,000 miles on the new trans already in about 5 weeks.

No complaints with the truck at all.
