I know these pics have been posted in other posts. Just thought it should have it's own post. And this art make me fell A LOT better about the change. Sure, the river route will be shorter, but....waterfalls and trestles. That just looks and sounds incredible.

Agreed. If it is anything like the concept art it will be quite a sight. I'm still sad we won't get to ride the railroad this year. :)

Can someone point out (or draw) what is in this area now? I am having trouble visualizing this. For example, where is BTMR?

Thanks!

I love it! One of the train conductors told us that the river couldn't change too much because of all the F! stuff backstage. Both his comment & this pic are making everything okay...and the fact we're getting SW land too :)

BTMR would be behind you. This is looking out onto the river. BTMR will be untouched :)

I like the look of this. I was DL yesterday and rode Mark Twain RB several times before its last run. A bittersweet occasion. But I look forward to its reopening.

Roughly, the shaded area will be changed, so that the area you see at the top is kind of where the bottom of the shaded area ends in the map below. You can see where Big Thunder RR and the canoes are.

There are several concept drawings on the web showing where people expect Star Wars Land to go.

Absolutely gorgeous! I wish they could make the ROA that color though....

I think it looks beautiful and I hope they can really get that feel when they're done. I have high hopes for this reconstruction.

I hadn't see these until now. Thanks OP for posting! I too think it looks great and I'm sure I wont be disappointed when its finished. We went to the parks in November and savored our last trips (for a long while) on the RR and Mark Twain. Two of my favorite attractions and I can't wait until they reopen!

Thanks @Mary Jo for the maps. Very interesting. It looks like the expansion into the backstage areas will be very close to the fireworks launch facility. I wonder if they will have to relocate that as well.

I agree, it looks beautiful! And one of my favorite things about Disneyland is those places where things overlap and pictures can show so many attractions at once. Like how the Monorail is often in my Autopia and Nemo Sub pictures!

Maybe they can?! I read that it's dyed that greenish color right now to hide the rails that the big boats ride. It would be prettier if it were blue!!

Looks like there will be spots where you will have to walk under the railroad to get to the new lands. Similar to toontown.

I am just so very glad to see the Indian village included in the concept art! I thought it was a goner for sure.

The railroad already crosses over Critter Country. I don't think there will be another cross over in that back part of the park. Part of the reason for this change is to keep the railroad and other areas invisible when in Star Wars Land. However, I'm not sure how it will be concealed in the area between Frontierland and Toon Town. Perhaps we will have to walk under the track there too.
