New Disney World AP Pay and get less?

And what was the Silver Pass at a moderately reasonable price if you avoided the main peak times has basically been eliminated. They gave you back a lot of the summer but took away pretty much every mid-level holiday weekend such as Labor Day which had never really been huge crowds. And it's a massive price hike over what the Silver Pass was prior.

This! Pirate is basically useless for any holiday traveling or if you have kids in school. It’s pointless And we would go every Labor Day weekend and a few holidays in the winter….Low crowds.

Especially Labor Day. It’s dead.

And great, they gave me summers back —-yuck. No Floridian wants to be in Disney World in July by choice! Too crowded and too hot.

You added a zero there- or you’re seeing the future and informing of us of next year’s price increase?

We went in 2019 and paid under $900 for our platinum pass. Today to get the same thing - 2 years later- we are looking at a jump of $500. This is insane in a two year period. And for that, I can't even guarantee that I can get into the park of my choice each day of my trip if I stay in a non Disney hotel.

If its $205 down it should be 11 months of payments not 12 like it says or there is a payment the same month as the dp.
I'm guessing the other parks are loving this!!

Out of state guests (who are not DVC blue card members) can only purchase the Incredi-Pass. The cost is $1299 + 6.5% tax.
no the 1299 price says "Florida resident price" specifically I assumed it was more'll update when the site goes live I guess. I doubt the out-of-state price is the same as Florida resident price but I could be wrong. I've had an fl resident ap since 2002 it was always 20% or higher (for non-Florida resident ) even back in the 399 days.. i know I dated myself.

Where does it say that? All I see is the monthly payment price for FL residents under it, which is different.

Did anyone else look into the Water Park and Sports add on? Am I reading this right? $99 with give you access to all (water parks, midget golf, etc.), but only one day each?!? I'm only interested in adding the water parks... Guessing there is no longer a water park annual pass option 😮 😥

I am wondering about this as well.

Blog says "after Passholder feedback" they've designed new Passholders. Say what? We would actually 'ask' for it to be $1300 for almost no perks and photo opps taken away, and other horrible changes made since Covid?? Do they think we're totally insane? Dh & I have bought our last ones two years ago, and at this point have no desire or plans to even return to Disney. :furious: Last great trip was pre Covid. We were buying AP's every other year and going back for 8-10 days 3 times in those years, so Disney got quite a bit of our $$$'s - so long Disney.
Yeah, if they would have phrased the price hike as a "Go Fund Me" to fix Disco Yeti, I'd feel a lot better about it.

I'll go back to giving the Disney photographers my camera to take photos. Unless they're going to start charging for that as well. I won't have the magic shots, but so be it.

I am sure almost any other guest, who might be passing by, would be more than willing to take the picture for you, and at no charge!!.

FWIW, DVC also qualified for a discount on Platinum passes and there's no discount for DVC on the Incredi-Pass, either.

If you read carefully, the price listed is for everyone BUT Florida residents qualify for a monthly payment plan. All other plans specifically designate that you must be a Florida resident or either a FL resident/DVC member to qualify. The Incredi-Pass does not make that stipulation and the price clearly reads $1299 + tax.

With ticket prices what they are, I honestly can't wait to start using my AKV as a "home base" for spring training. I know it's an hour drive to Publix Field, but still...with what Disney is charging, I can take a nice drive to Florida from Michigan, stay for 3-4 nights at AKV and see a few Detroit Tigers spring training games while getting out of the Michigan cold for a while...without giving Chapek an additional dime!
That’s how my husband sees it. Dvc to enjoy the warm weather. Zero extra dollars to Disney.

If you look at the graphic @Marionnette posted, the first 3 passes specify “available to Florida residents only” or “available to Florida residents & DVC members only”. The Incredi Pass does not specify only Florida residents. It gives Florida residents a payment plan that isn’t available to anyone else. So, yes, Florida residents pay the same as the rest of us. However, the Sorcerer Pass is the same as the Incredi Pass except for 2 blacked out weeks at Christmas. And it is $400 less than the Incredi Pass. And available only to Florida residents or DVC. So there’s the discount for Florida residents. Not a bad deal at all, IMO. I would love to save $400 & skip the holiday weeks, but I don’t even get that option.

Don’t many of these things apply to DL too?? Housekeeping, Park Reservations, genie, paying for some rides, restricted park hopping, no dining plan, getting up at 7 & being spontaneous seem like they’d be the same at both DL & WDW. I know pictures are included at DL, but the unlimited pass is $100 more there, so that seems like a wash. I admit I haven’t kept up with DL news, so I may be totally off. Just wondering why these things are so upsetting at WDW but not at DL?
Probably the time and cost of the flight whereas they’re much closer to DL.
Yes, exactly. It's the added cost of flying and time to get there that make WDW easier to stop visiting. Most do apply to Disneyland, but I was focusing on WDW since this is the WDW forum. But I suspect we'll be cutting back on DL as well. I'm not planning on even buying a AP there even though we've been AP holders for over twenty years. Too much uncertainty right now in how things will be operating.

I would at least wait until after the weekend of October 1st. One of the journalists reporting this story said that Disney indicated that upgrading to an AP will cancel your existing park reservations, and there's very little AP availability that weekend. After that weekend, you should be fine.

If they clearly fix that quirk (and confirm it to you at Guest Services when you upgrade), you could do it early. But I'd probably wait until the end of the trip, unless you can clearly benefit from the upgrade (and verify with Guest Services when you upgrade).
Thanks, it does seem like there is any benefits if I read correctly to upgrade early on in my trip.

Thank you for answering & explaining your thinking. I’m lucky that I have til next May to decide if we‘ll renew. I’ll be retiring next April. For years I’ve been looking forward to being able to take spontaneous trips after we‘re both retired. I don’t know if I’m ready to give up the dream.. but I do know we’ll probably have to down grade our resorts or otherwise cut back on expenses in order to make it happen.

ahh if this is the case then that sucks no discount for us on the top pass but seeing all the changes wouldn't surprise me. Sorry @marrionette also
Edit: also the sorcerers pass is looking like the better call too I've only gone near Christmas a handful of times in ~20 years and it was crazy busy.

Congrats on the almost retirement. I think our golds expire in April. Good timing for the RunDisney schedule :)
