New Disney Ticket Options?

I found this article by looking through the ClubD23.com website. It outlines possible new ticket options, which would be great for DVCers. I wonder why they didn't ask us as a group...

I also hope that they start to offer the AP monthly payment plan to everyone, as i see that it has just started to be offered to Florida Residents. That would help with budgeting no end for me!

Seems like some of the options would be hard to enforce. How do you find all the "partial day" visitors at 3p and make sure they are out of the parks? Or if you buy a ticket where you don't ride anything, does that mean everyone will have to show their tickets stating that they can ride a ride. Can you imagine what that will do to the wait times?
If they go to wrist banding everyone, rope drop and getting into the parks will be a nightmare.

The club sound cool, but for us I'd rather keep our AP discount since we go more than once per year for 7 days. A payment plan for DVC owners would be nice like they give to the FL residents.

yep - i do wish the "after 4pm" tickets were an option for DVCers to have access to the parks for dinner, though.

They tried this for DVC about 10 years ago. You paid an unfront cost and got 1 park hopper per year for 4 of 5 years (you picked which of the 4 years you wanted). I don't think they sold too many and it was discontinued. I think it was around $700.

I would gladly pay the 150 per person per day vip fastpass with unlimited use. Of course, it would just be myself and my daughter, and we would be going during very busy times, since I am a teacher.

DVC has grown so much from when it started up in the 90's.... the days when members were getting park tickets with membership. I think the ticket club would be a more popular option if it were offered to members now, than 15 years ago.

I'd be first in line for a ticket club, especially if they allowed financing on the tickets.

I think some of the packages listed that would be useful for DVC members would be the Park Club, the Character Nights, Premium Holiday Package, and the All-Inclusive Disney World Experience. A low cost Touring only ticket would also be good for entry for dining (especially useful at EPCOT), parades, and fireworks.

The thing that stood out for me on the article is that Disney was surveying recent park guests. It seems to me that it would likely be easy and fairly inexpensive to put the survey on the DVC Member site and poll us specifically with the same questions. This would allow them to determine the desires in one of their most loyal fan base, and possibly give them a population to try the logistics for one (or more) of these deals. Also, it would be difficult for members to vote more than once, since the response could be tied to log-in (like on here).

I think Disney wastes a lot of opportunities for polling and marketing by not utilizing the DVC Member website.

I agree. I wonder though if they don't poll us becasue they know they already have us. Maybe they're trying to find ways to boost CR reservations other than through the discounts they are currently offering. If you could only buy the fastpass ticket if you would stay at one of their resorts, more people may be partial to staying on site instead of off.

FOTL perc is unlimited for onsite guests (although stated they reserve the right to limit it if crowded, i've never experienced that happening). The express pass they sell, which varies in price, is limited to 1 per attraction.

ive been reading so many threads where people are crowing about using FPs anytime they wish (outside the stated return times). The FP lines seemed surprising lengthy our last 2 trips, compared to same time frame of previous years. Generally, phrased as 'hints/tips', wherein DISers insist the stated FP return window is merely a suggestion. Im starting to think increasing numbers of guests are using them later in the day & it's causing delays.

I hate to think how lengthy the FP return line could become in the afternoon/evening, if they start selling additional unlimited FPs, unless they'd restrict the number sold. Why not just bring back the old pm EMHs where you paid small amount (think it was $15? pp then, could be priced in ballpark as PH?) as a MYW option?

I just wish Disney would come up with a really nice ticket offer for DVC members. Maybe they could include park tickets in the points required for a stay so that park admission would have the same value as your points.

im surprised how many members take trips & never visit the parks! will admit that after so many years we've skipped purchasing the APs & do more exploring @ the other central FLA attractions, so imo i sure wouldn't want to be obligated to have tix prices factored into my stay.

So many guests buy their admission tix from vendors (UT), it'd be nice to see an in-house discount on all tix media (including MYW tix). I assume WDW sells the tix in bulk to the vendor @ 'cost/discount' & they're still making a profit...why not treat valued DVC members in same regard?

is for a voucher system, limited to tickets purchased per trip. It wouldn't have to be the same $ amount extended for APs, even a small discount (perhaps 20%) would be most welcome!

It could be set up along the line of current GAD vouchers...wherein specific name/ID required is verified & u'd need to actually use it during current trip (wouldn't object if they'd offer the non-expiry option too).

They could start small, prohibiting perc to renters & limit it to only the guests named on reservation or registered household members only, ala the AP perc.
