New Disney Store at Toronto Eaton Centre

Hello!
Does anyone know what a Disney Store opening celebration is all about? Can you meet characters? Might consider the 6 hour drive if really worth it

I just saw on FB they're opening Saturday. Goofy and Pluto will be there.

The opening ceremony will be held Sept 7th at 9:30 am and the character meet and greet will be held from 12pm-2pm. The store is located on the second floor close to sears.

I'll be going at lunch today so I'll let everyone know! I'm also hoping to get out on Saturday but not sure what time. It starts at 9:30am and the first 500 customers get a free gift but the characters aren't there until Noon! Decisions decisions lol.

I was just in the store and it seems slightly smaller than the old location but it is amazing and very well laid out. It has everything you would expect (plush, clothing, figurines, mugs, etc) but I was not there as long as I would have liked to have been so I didn't get a chance to see everything.

I did ask if their gift cards were useable at the parks or on DCL and I was told that they are not and they are currently only using CDN dollar paper gift certificates.

I plan on going Saturday to the Grand Opening!

It's pretty much the same as the ones in Yorkdale and in Scarborough Town centre except it doesn't have brick on the front.

The store itself is nice they actually have a real castle but the cm's are useless.
