New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

I am hopeful for Rogers, since it's probably never going to go to WDW given the IP rights.
That would depend on whether or not Universal Orlando has anything Captain America. WDW could build a Guardians of the Galaxy ride because Universal Orlando did not have anything related to Guardians of the Galaxy. WDW could not build a Spiderman ride because Universal Orlando has a Spiderman ride.

They do have "Captain America Diner" in Islands of Adventure

On land east of the Mississippi we can have
-Doctor Strange (though that may have been overturned as he only ever appeared in a streetmosphere show for a few weeks in 2016)
-guardians of the galaxy
-Eternals
-possibly Shang Chi
-there is also speculation that we can have “wakanda” but it can only feature the Dora Milage and no depiction of Black Panther
-non MCU related big hero 6 and moon girl & devil dinosaur

Treasure will be visiting New York before starting her regular 7 nights from PC. Most likely it’s just a media event.
Yes, that is what I heard...media events. Any word on Godmother yet or where she will be Christened? The Fantasy visited NYC for her christening.

That is what I read/heard months ago and then when I posted that info recently I was shot down by several people saying that was not going to happen/wasn't posted anywhere.....I can't remember if it was here or on FB but it was a few weeks ago. I heard the same rumor again last week so posted the above today.

I did just find this......so I know I am not crazy that I did read it somewhere before. I am glad they took a screenshot of the schedule as the Treasure is no longer listed on the Manhattan Cruise Terminal schedule. It was removed soon after it was posted....assuming it wasn't supposed to be posted. We will see what happens in November I guess!!

If it is true then the Treasure will be in NYC for Mickey/Minnie's birthday on November 18th!

I’m still hoping for Rodgers The Musical…. I’d also except them adapting the through lines of Fantasmic into a jukebox musical
As much as this would be awesome on the Destiny and would fit the theme, I think they should consider this for the Dream.

The Dream and Wonder are the only two ships that have two jukebox musicals now, they could easily replace Golden Mickey’s with this and it would fit with their Marvel Day at Sea when they run that in Jan/Feb.

What?!! :scared1:

You can pry The Golden Mickey’s from my cold dead hands! It’s one of the few shows acknowledges underrated films and has Hunchback and Tarzan. Please for all that is good leave that beautiful show alone

If you want a decent show - look to Mickey and the Magician (DLP) or Mickey and the wondrous Book (HKDL with a similar version in Shanghai by a different name) - they would both make great cruise line variety shows with various IP and are both great quality - they may need the add of a song here and there for length for a cruise show.

I sat through it in 2022 to see if my memory of it was correct and it was.

It feels so outdated and cheesy. I will go see any other show multiple times - but not this one.

Plus I didn’t say remove it from the Wonder so it would still be around… just the Dream.

I am sure it is just going to come down to scheduling and progress. If they are on or ahead of schedule, I'm sure they'd love to send it to NYC, because I am sure they'd love the GMA crew to push the ship live from the ship for 2 or 3 days, along with any other media or christening events they might want to do while in port. They probably took it off the schedule just in case they fall behind schedule like they did with the Wish. It can't be too much of a coincidence that the Treasure was expected to be in NYC 5 weeks prior to its maiden voyage and the Wish missed its first 5 weeks of voyages, can it?

I was just going to say that I'd love to see Mickey and the Magical Map (DL). I absolutely love that show!

As a massive Stitch fan, I was very upset when they reworked the Golden Mickeys and removed his segment. It's still a great show though

The Golden Mickeys are truly outdated. All the theme park shows mentioned here (Map, Magician, Book) are wonderful shows that do the same job but in a far less cringey way than the Golden Mickeys.

Any new show could still have music from lesser known movies. With the new Hunchback musical and I can see that this would even be very high on the list.

Cruella Themed Piano Bar-

From Disney Parks Blog:

The creative teams at Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering are plotting an assortment of spaces and experiences inspired by some of Disney’s most legendary schemers, scoundrels and specters for the Disney Destiny, our new heroes and villains-theme ship that will set sail in 2025 … with special spaces just for adults, including a brand-new piano lounge celebrating the one and only Cruella de Vil!

The fabulously over-the-top villain from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” — and the acclaimed 2021 live action film — inspires De Vil’s, an all-new, adult-exclusive piano lounge coming to the Disney Destiny.

Cruella’s infamous flair for style and wickedly bold attitude will be reflected in the bar’s Hollywood Regency-inspired aesthetic, where everything will be adorned in her signature color palette of red, black and white. There will even be a glowing, fiber optic Cruella that appears and disappears in the wall behind an eye-catching spotted piano! And with one side of the lounge open to the Grand Hall, you will be able to sit back with a drink and a prime view of the ship’s premier gathering space.

With a custom menu brimming with trendy martinis, chic cocktails, and glamorous wines and bubblies! It’ll be anything but “miserable darling” to wind down in style at De Vil’s.

Visit disneycruise.com for more information, and keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the details about this marvelous ship!

Personal Note: I really thought they would have Luna themed to Cruella but having the piano bar is a much better fit IMO.
