New Disney Race in Sat Oct 27(Night Run) & Minnie Rumor

WIth your new job not centering around sports seasons, this should be a cake walk, right? And you can study on the plane.

Oh sure... the time off is no problem...

OK, if I just drive into Chicago for race day AND stay with a friend in Toronto AND tent camp at Ft Wilderness for the 13K, then this is all totally do-able.

Hotel booked for Friday and Saturday! Pop Century @ $84.15 per night. Now just need the details although it doesn't really matter - I'm going either way.

Except for the fact that Howard may have to spend every spare moment studying, this is going to be an absolute BLAST!!!!
Now we just have to hope SWA comes out with some absolutely fabulous DING rates!!
So, what do we know?
Race start time?
Will it be possible to do MNSSHP that night after the race?
IF we are arriving Friday night and coming back Sunday night I HAVE to figure out a way to cram it all in!!!!

Cam - Looks like we're int he same boat. We're looking to fly SWA out of PHL on Friday, returning Sunday. I've already boked Swan. I looked at historical MNSSHP dates and it looks like it's Friday or Monday. How will I ever fit in my studying?! There's always a way to cram it all in!

Yes, Cam, I vote for Friday night. From what I understand, tickets go on sale in the next couple of weeks. We HAVE to all get them for the same night. This will be SO MUCH FUN!

All- MNSSHP is a blast, much better than the Christmas party IMO. Special cool Halloween lighting on the castle, spooky fireworks, and the ride of the headless horseman! It is absolutely awesome!! Plus a lot (not all) are in costume!

If DH decides to come in Oct rather than Jan we will probably end up at Pop, if not then I will be solo, probably on the beach!! Ok, maybe not...But a nice AP rate would be nice!!

I'm planning on SWA flight leaving around 1:30pm (time shifts with season; can you tell I fly this route a bit too often) that'll get us to MCO about 4:00pm. MNSSHP should begin at 7...plenty of time. We did MNSSHP 10/31/2000. The Headless Horseman leading the parade is not to be missed. There's a very informative thread on the theme parks board about MNSSHP. I'll try to find it and post the link.

Oh you guys, I totally want to go. I checked airfare though and right now it is between $650 - $800!! I even checked going on points but the flights are the pits. I'll keep an eye on it to see if things improve.

I was glad to see it there too. Mostly because I was feeling silly planning for something that was just a rumor. This will be so much fun. I'd really like to do MNSSHP, too!

Krista - I would verify that with WWS or EMMI. At this year's marathon "help tent" I stood next to a guy who had just arrived and they had his name on a list for number pick-up at the event. Couldn't hurt to ask...would they really turn away the revenue?

But we dont' need no stinkin' glow-in-the-dark race shirts! We already got 'em!!!!

Seriously, Disney sure knows how to do race shirts, but they are usually tech material and I have to wonder whether they can do tech material that's glow in the dark. What do I care, though? Around here, you always wanna know what the tee shirt looks like and it often impacts on your decision of whether the tshirt and post-race food are worth the entry fee. No question at Disney as to whether the race experience alone is worth the entry fee!
