Has anyone else signed up for and paid for the new magazine on Disney they were talking about a while ago on the Dis? I thought it was supposed to come out in Oct. Anyone have any new info?:confused3

Celebrations Magazine. It is being printed right now & should mail soon. They were behind on all the details - being their first - the people behind the mag really wanted it to be right. It sounds like the wait will be worth it.

I am one of the ones who has order it and am starting to get upset because I've been really wanting this magazine!!! I think it's bull to make people pay for something and not deliver. I understand about wanting to make it right and running behind, but they should have sent a letter or emails out stating the reason it hasn't or wasn't delivered yet.

I think people wouldh't have been as upset, or I should say disappointed, if we would've known this info before. I'm a huge Disney fan, as well are, but things like this really disappoint me. I hope this won't happen again!!

well, i don't think its that they even knew before hand to let everyone know. For their first run of a magazine, i am sure they are running into difficulties. I trust the guys running the magazine, they all have great reputations and I am sure the finished product will be great.

At least we know a DISNEY magazine is coming.... which is better than nothing coming at all.
I just hope it comes before we go down there in 2 weeks.

We all know one is coming but, this is getting pretty bad. If I had my own business and did this customers, I'd be out of work very soon. No one would trust me, especially if I didn't send them some kind of a notice.

I REALLY am excited about this magazine coming up, but I can't take it no more!!! I need a fix and need it bad!!! LMAO!!!:lmao: :rotfl: :scared1:

Because of all the hubub, I found out about both this magazine and the one-year-old Orlando Attractions magazine. I subscribed to both (and ordered the back issues for Orlando Attractions) about a week ago.

I already have all the Orlando Attractions issues. I've read most of them. Now I'm waiting for the other mag to ship.

I plan to compare them and decide which to keep after a year's subscription.

Hopefully they're just having some first-issue problems and will get rolling as the months go on.

I subscribed to the magazine too. I just opened my email and Lou Mongello has invited all his friends to the new Face Book page for Celebrations.....here is his direct quote off the board today at 4:52 PM...

"Spoke with Tim last night and the magazine has left the printers and is at the mailing house, so now it's in the hands of the USPS! (Trust me, I can't wait to get my hands on MY copy as well, too!!) :)

We're VERY excited and thank you all for your enthusiasm (and patience!! - we wanted to really make the first issue special). Hope you enjoy it!!!"

I just searched on-line to find out about getting the magazine - that was unsuccessful. Can someone help me? I would love to get the magazine too.

Here's my question. Why wouldn't they wait until they had the magazine at the printers before taking people's money? I think then people would be less upset.

I'm concerned...looks like they would have sent an email explaining the delay. BTW, my other thread got moved by the moderators...to where I don't even know.

Since this isn't really a trip planning issue, the moderators have decided to move all discussions on this magazine over to the theme parks community board, so I'm going to move this over there now.

First off, I would like to say that my DW (Disney Wife for those new people such as I) is responsible for me being here... It was her fanatical following of this board that intrigued me. She was one of the first subscribers to the Celebrations magazine that we haven't seen yet.

I was excited to see that Lou was putting together something that we could get fresh every other month. I have been in the printing industry for more years than I care to admit. I know it is really easy to come home from a trip, download your photos and post them to a blog site and send invites to all of your friends to view. That takes about an hour. Lou is working with the great unknown here, Printing. No matter how hard you plan, and take care that all of your images are correctly converted to CMYK or the right resolution there is always one that you forgot and you don't know about it until you are at the printer. There are alot of other variables that come into play, and yes I believe they are making it special and the first time to get it right is even more difficult.

So I am patiently waiting (but I do hope it gets here quick), we would like to be able to enjoy it before we leave in 2 weeks and 3 days as my DW (wife) keeps reminding me.

PS She had me edit this so me being a newbie didn't get flamed.

And what you say, HerbieDriver, is all true. However, in the case of this magazine, the problem wasn't with the printer. According to e-mails they sent out, they were very late even getting to the printers in the first place. And besides, it's not so much the delays that people seem to be having a problem with but with the lack of communication about the delays.
