So it looks like the new Disney Honeymoon Registry website was launched today. How do I know? Because I've been checking it every day since we set our wedding date. The reason I had chosen to go directly through Disney was that I would have our wedding gifts waiting for us when we checked in at our resort, and also, unlike other registry sites, there was no service fee.
Well, no such luck on number two now. They are now charging at 7% service fee on all gifts. Now if I was expecting to get loads of gifts and had a huge wedding planned, that would be ok. But my friends and family are of low to moderate income and we are having a very small wedding. 7% is a lot! Not sure what to do now. I'm going to set up the registry, but I might not use it. Actually DF suggested we just put a link to the Disney Gift card page on our website and on the invitations. Of course what i liked about the registry was people seeing what we were going to be using the money for, like a character breakfast, or a fireworkds cruise.
What are your thoughts on the registry service fee?
