Also used AmEx, although I did not use the PayPal App. I saved the offer and ensured it was showing under my saved offers. Then, when checking out not the Disney Website, after selecting PayPal for payment, the 10% Disney cash back appeared as a small banner at the bottom. Mine are still showing as pending. It would seem weird if going through the app as opposed to a browser would make any difference, but I guess maybe?

The app just redirects you to the Disney site. Banner showed across the bottom for 10% cash back. Is what it is. Not gonna worry about it.

Has anyone with the gc. com, 5% Chase offer successfully combined with 5% from paying through PayPal? I got the PayPal points but over a week without the Chase credit. I thought it worked in the past. I know Chase is slow but losing hope.

Yeah it appears that it’s not giving me the 10%. I tried another $500 gift card by itself. It’s how’s the same. Just 20% and no 10%. So maybe the 10% was never applied to either purchase. Went through the PayPal app and it said the 10% was activated both times.

You need to reset the Disney 10% every time you use it.

I finally found my remaining credit on PayPal. It was $200 so I charged $200 more to my cruise. I then paid off my first 2 loans. Let’s see what happens.

I see all the DoC DPs about that...yeah it makes me nervous too. Are they going to go back and look at each transaction? If you think about it if they are able to do it post-offer why couldn't they just code it to check as people purchased? Either way I wish the points went from pending to earned so we could really go nuts with this one. As it stands now I'm not willing to do more than the 1250.

I sort of had that same thought. If all those Target gift card purchases are triggering the "apparel" deal, maybe it means that PayPal tracking tech on their offers just isn't all that great. Sort of like how Rakuten is pretty darn good at ensuring GCs don't earn cash back, while RMN tends to give cash for them. I'm still feeling cautiously optimistic on this one.

Payapal receives either level 1, level 2, or level 3 data from merchants. (level 3 is where they get transaction information showing what was purchased). Merchants who send level 3 data get reduced fees, so I am pretty sure most major merchants are going to be sending level 3 data.

I also don't think they have to manually go back and look at each transaction, they can probably run a computer program or AI to do that. The real question is whether they will do that.

Lets remind ourselves that Payapl is a company that can and will do whatever they want and probably get away with it. It was in 2016 when the paypal digital gifts store was hacked and everyones gift cards were drained. Paypal never admitted responsibility and made people fight tooth and nail to get their money back and many people never got their money back. The only one who reported on it was doc and everyone else including the press never reported on it.

As a reference, I did not use the paypal offer, my GC order charged on 11/21, the chase credit appeared 11/24. When you look at your chase offers, does it show the GC offer as redeemed?

I was all excited for this because I need about $1K in gift cards for my DVC dues and figured I would max out and buy the $500 that they usually allow which would be a FANTASTIC deal with a 20% rebate in mPerks....then I saw the $50 limit. Oh well...I can at least get one of them with a 20% discount!

I don't think we have any "approved" data points yet. I purchased mine on 11/18 and still pending.

Yes it is nice when they do the 20% but the last couple of years they seem to be stingy only offering it on $50.

They can pend for up to 90 days.

Targeted Amex Offers - I got pay with Google Pay + Amex 1x for $10 statement credit, DH got pay w Google Pay + Amex 3x for $10 statement credit. Plan to try it on 4x $15 value DGCs at CVS.

Edit: Terms do say cannot be used on purchases of GCs - we'll see if it tracks.

I have had points take 2 months to become available. It might not take that long, but set your expectations low and be surprised if it takes less.
