I actually got $20 off $250. That's a little over 10% if I buy $275 worth of giftcards, not bad since I have three trips coming up.
Hi - rare poster here! I happened to see this, and although I have zero need for a CC (I don’t carry balances so have far more than I need) this BoA offer intrigued me - I have 3 quick wdw trips booked over the next 9 months and am a fan of applying DGC to resort stays beforehand, especially when AP/BB discounts are lackluster. Yadda yadda, I have one of these cards en route. There is also a 200 cash back reward if you spend 1k in 90 days - not a problem, since the first thing I’m doing is buying 2x500 dgc! I’m still not quite clear on how the % back will work, though. If I want to max cash back on dgc, I assume I choose “online shopping” for my customized cash back (6% for the first year, then 3%), and then if I’m buying dgc from sams, I get an extra 2% back because of the warehouse store thing? Many thanks!
I had to unfreeze my credit reports, I had totally forgottenTotally understand your mindset. I resisted new CCs for many years - freeze with credit bureaus, no need for new credit, etc. That changed for me when we purchased our first two DVC contracts in 2023 and a third in 2024. Learning via this forum about purchasing DGC at a discount and using them to pay annual dues, park tix, and park spending was eye-opening. Also learned I could boost discounts significantly with no effort using certain CCs so earlier this year I began reworking my CC mix.
Here is the BofA rewards calculation for a recent BJ’s online DGC purchase of $159.48:
Rewards Base (1%): $1.60
Category Bonus for online purchase (2%): $3.19
Relationship Bonus - Preferred Rewards (75% Bonus): $3.60
Total Cashback: $8.39 (~5.25%)
I believe that with the 6% promo your category bonus for the first year will be 5%.
I got $10 off $125 but now the discount BJs had on the DGC has endedJust checked my BJ's Wholesale Club account this morning and I was able to clip a coupon for $10 off a $100 purchase. It is automatically applying to Disney Gift Cards as long as the purchase total for the GC's is over $100.
Hope other people with a BJ's account get this coupon!![]()
Last year I purchased $5,250 in DGC at an 11.23% overall discount from face value. This year we are adding a second 7 day trip and will need to purchase $7,000+. So far this year I have purchased $3,600 at a 13.54% overall discount and the new CCs are helping drive that. My goal is ~$1,000 in DGC purchase discounts this year, not including the two $200 SUBs from BofA. Those discounts really add up.I had to unfreeze my credit reports, I had totally forgotten! I have a specific hysa for all my disney $, and it is directly linked to the current cashback card I use, so I never needed more. But same, I wandered over to this thread one day, and it just seemed so silly to be paying more than I had to. I am an AP who loves CL, and I’m flying out multiple times a year. They are getting pllllleeennnty of my $ already!! I will be buying my first dgc as soon as I get it, so I can report back on the actual cashback.
In the app or website under coupons. If you have one, it will usually be the first coupon listed but you can also sort by Exclusively For You to be sure. You may get a corresponding email but don’t rely on it. Also check the mailer for similar in-store only $ off coupons.Where does everyone see the BJ's coupons? With the rest of the coupon page? There are so many small item coupons but I never see anything like get XX back with XX spend. Or do you get them separately? I think I occasionally get something in their flyer, but not usually as good as people see here. Thanks
If possible find any other place to purchase the DGC from besides BJs or Sam's as I'm 99% sure it defaults to the 2% Warehouse regardless of purchasing online. That's been my experience anyway. And the warehouse 2% and the online 6% both count towards the 2500 quarterly max so you want that 6% online to be the whole 2500 for each quarter if you can. Maybe do a small GC purchase on BJs.com to see if it counts as an online purchase but again I'm pretty sure it doesn't. The Platinum Honors boost along with the 6% promo is an excellent deal and if you REALLY wanted to go for extra savings you could take the money you would use to pay off the card and put it into an interest bearing instrument like a T-Bill and use the 0% interest free for 15 months to make money but that really takes a lot of coordination.Hi - rare poster here! I can’t do BJs, none local, they booted me. But I’ll start with Sams and see what’s what. No matter what, my WDW money for the next 2-3 trips is sitting in high yield rn earning 4%, so I’m ahead - it’s tough to tell what’s what with the %ges on the card the way they have it described, but I can always swap in a month to travel as my selected category and am still ahead on any balances when I’m there, which was my thinking to start. It still beats my current card, at least for a year. My experience has been the opposite. The sample transaction from BJ’s I shared earlier shows a 2% Category Bonus in addition to the 1% Rewards Base, so it’s definitely postingIf possible find any other place to purchase the DGC from besides BJs or Sam's as I'm 99% sure it defaults to the 2% Warehouse regardless of purchasing online. The Platinum Honors boost was the tipping point for me in my decision to apply. This was even before the current 6% promotion. Sorry I missed out on that but happy with my steady 5.25% cashback on the 3% categories. If possible find any other place to purchase the DGC from besides BJs or Sam's as I'm 99% sure it defaults to the 2% Warehouse regardless of purchasing online. I figure between the $200 and 6%, it was worth the temporary credit score hit to give it a shot! Worst case scenario, I’ll still get the $200 plus a 2% bonus to cards I am already planning to buy. But it sounds like it should add the 3% with your experience. Anyways, I’ll report back! The Platinum Honors boost was the tipping point for me in my decision to apply. Hold up...Targets 10% off their store gift cards is today. Of course I don’t have a card with 5% target category this time. Wondering if my 2% Apple Pay is probably the best. Hmmm.
And no. Can’t use on Disney. But we grocery shop at target. So spend that each month anyway hah.
I just bought mine with my Apple Pay Altitude Reserve. 10% discount is auto applied.Hold up...
Can I use my Apple Card to get 2% cash back on a Target gift card that I get a 10% discount on using my Target Circle rewards???
Hmmmm......I've never thought of that! I thought I had to use my RedCard!
