The dates of the new Disney deals seem to be valid following my son's school calendar (meaning NO deals the last week of March which is spring break/easter week).

BUT, it is valid the week of 2/18 (Presidents day) which was originally winter break here in NY, but most districts around me have taken away because of Sandy.

Obviously though, this is kind of for last minute travel and there is a whole lot of other people out there. So, do you think there will be a difference this year? Undercover tourist has it as a red week and Touring plans has it as it as 9 or 10 all week, but obviously Disney is offering deals (which they haven't done during this week the past few years).

What do you think?

(Not yet sure if this will affect my plans).

Yes, it will be crowded. The deals are to entice guests who need to travel a distance to get there. People who live in the Orlando area don't have to stay in a resort to be able to spend part of their holiday weekend visiting the parks. And if the weather is pleasant and the kids are off from school, you can bet that there will be plenty of locals there.

BTW - President's Weekend, according to Disney's resort pricing, is from 2/15-2/17/13. The night of Feb. 18 would fall after the actual weekend is over but would still be in what is considered to be a "peak" time. That means that the beginning of most people's winter breaks would still be excluded from the discount.
