Do you think that the new discount for 2013 means free dining won't be offered?

I thought FD usually comes before room & package discounts. We save so much more with FD that I hate to give up hope.

Wait...what? There's a 2013 discount?

Yes, for Visa Card holders it's released now. For public, not until the 10th. There is a new room only and then a new type of discount called stay/play/dine that gives a discount on the whole package.

But that's when the discounts go public. Would Disney release both on the same day?

Sure, why not? For people that aren't Visa card holders, and don't read these boards, everything released on the 10th is new to them. They're probably feeling out this new deal with the Visa holders, but lots of phone CM's have said the FD will be out on the 10th when asked.

free dine and the package deal and the room discount??? :confused3

Gots to go with the FD... family of 4 with 2 teens. Yikes lol

the cm i booked with told me that free dining wasnt going to be offered. the visa offer out now is the one coming out to the public on the 10th:confused3

This is correct. From everything I have read, there will not be a FD offer. The current Visa offers should be the only offers going public on 10/10.

Who knows.

CM told me today again that FD will come out on the 10th while I was booking the stay/play/dine offer today.

Most of the CMs I talked to don't even understand the stay/play/dine discount so I can't imagine them confusing it with FD since FD clearly says Free Dining on the promos.

I guess we'll see!!

Disney have decided to try this new stay/play/dine package discount for the early Spring, so I guess they have figured out that they will make more money this way. Until it comes out on the 10th, it will be difficult to run the numbers and see what the savings are. :coffee:

Going to go with the doubters for free dining now. The Play/Stay/Dine plan is comming up to right at 9$ per person per night. I cant see them dropping it from 10$ to 0$. But Im still going to haunt the boards just in case im wrong!

When the CM calculated the cost of s/p/d for our group, it actually came up higher than taking the 35% off the deluxe resort rooms and paying for everything else at full price. It probably saves money for those staying at value resorts, but didn't work for our group of 6 adults in 2 rooms at the Poly for February 2013.

Whereas, we made out better with the S/P/D. We used it for a 2 adult, 2 child, 6-night stay at POR. If I pretend that I paid full price for the parkhoppers and DxDDP, my price equates to a 47% room discount.

I'd call again just to double check. It took me 3 calls for the CM to finally understand what I wanted and to put on the s/p/d offer. The first time the CM had told me it was more expensive than the room only, but the system had to have been reverting back to rack rate because it was my original price at booking.

Never hurts to double check! :goodvibes

Same for us. We are looking at going in Sept., but I was playing around with these prices because they will probably have similar offers for Sept. They gave me the price with 35% off and added back in the dining and tickets. This was lower than the s/p/d--I called 2 different times to make sure. The weird thing is that I can't seem to figure out how they got our "price". I clicked on AKL for January and got the room only rate and took 35% off of that. I added back in the tickets and dining and the price that I got was about $400 more than what they told me? :confused3 Oh well, hopefully they have this deal or free dining for Sept.!
