New DIS Unplugged Disneyland Podcast - Show Today

I listened and it was good but I'd like to hear you and the old gang again. I always listened to the old podcast for the insider view and history that only people who have been regularly going to Disneyland for many years know. While the new podcast seems entertaining, it is lacking in that respect.

It's okay, but I agree, it's missing some of the heart you get from having people who have gone regularly to Disneyland. I miss the old crew. It felt like listening to family and Pete just isn't family since I haven't spent years watching his WDW shows. Maybe someday I'll get used to it.

Overall, I don't mind the video format. I think the show will be tweaked over time and continue to improve. The video quality was really good. I think there are a few kinks that still need to be worked out, but I have no doubt Craig and others will get them resolved in no time.

It is a great beginning and I am no where near down on this as some other people have been in the other thread.

Where change is always hard, I must say I really enjoyed the episode. I think Katrina and Tyler are a great addition.

Hopefully we'll get to see our old 'friends' in coming episodes. #globalhygienerevolution

I was so excited to see a new episode pop up in my iTunes feed after the long hiatus, but after listening to it I am so disappointed in what I heard. While change is always hard, hearing new voices of people you don’t know and not hearing the familiar voices, this wasn’t just a line up change and segment tweaks. This change wasn’t a revamp of the podcast, but rather it was the creation of a completely new podcast/YouTube show that just happens to have the same name as the old one.


What made The DIS Unplugged Disneyland Edition special was that at its heart it was a Disneyland podcast for locals as well as non-locals, hosted by a team of Passholder locals who were at the Park regularly and had been for many, many years with the accompanying knowledge that went with that. It was not one of the myriad of Disney Parks podcasts that include Disneyland or WDW podcasts that have a Disneyland segment. That heart and soul are now gone. No disrespect to any of the new hosts is intended. The DIS Unplugged Disneyland Edition is no longer the definitive Disneyland podcast for locals. It has morphed into a Florida based Disney podcast/YouTube show covering Disneyland for a different target audience. That is all well and good as it is Pete’s prerogative and his company to do as he wishes, but as a Disneyland local it feels like I just got an audio ‘Dear John’ letter from the Disneyland Edition.


I will continue to listen to the show for now while I search for a new Disneyland podcast for locals to listen to, hoping to hear some familiar old voices, and perhaps a significant reversion back to the old. One can always hope, but I am not holding my breath. With a 5 month hiatus, the current format of the show has to be what was intended.
