New Dining plan question/problem...

So I understand that with the premium 69.99 pp plan I am entitled to 3 meals a day at counter service OR table service?

So does anyone think it is going to be three times the problems getting ADR's as now there will be people attempting to get dining for all three meals a day? (not that everyone would)

I will not be happy if I paid this and got "stuck" with counter service 1, 2 or 3 times a day depending on how well I am able to plan. (Which granted, for us Dis'ers seems to be easier than most).

No, because (based on numerous threads and posts here on the DIS ;)), a lot of Guests will not be buying ANY Dining Plan option.

can't finish all the food on the current plan. Can't imagine adding another meal to the day!!!!

I can't imagine having to plan my day around 3 reservations. Maybe a lot of people on the plan won't want to, so not as many will make reservations and try to wing it? I don't know............

Also, keep in mind that the current plan only placed pressure on dining reservations for dinner. If the Deluxe plan has any effect (and, since comparatively few people could afford it, I suspect its effect will be minimal) it will just have that effect on breakfast and lunch.

I think there will be alot more use at the signature restaurants. If I purchased this plan, I would dine at a signature restaurant every day! I would use the other daily credit either for a TS lunch or CS lunch. (Now if only everyone would think like this I can get back into Le Cellier!):lmao:

I don't think it will really be any harder. I think most people using this plan are those that already liked to eat at least 2TS a day - these people were making ADRs anyway. I also think there will be a drop off in basic DDP usage which will surely cover any increase in diners on DxDDP.

I have to agree, I dont think both these plans will lure as many diners as the old DDP, perhaps that is by design, when you can make more by doing less its usually a good idea on the business side. There are always going to be the popular restaurants though, but overall I would think that ADR's will be easier to come by.

So it looks like appetizers nor tips are included in the new dining plan correct? I can't imagine getting the deluxe plan and eating 3 sit down meals a day - total waste of time and money for our family. We really enjoyed the DDP this year but doubt we will get it again.
