Hi ladies! Sort of OT, but I need it for showers/wedding/honeymoon, so I guess it counts! I'm looking to buy a new digital camera. I want something that is easy to use, easy to connect to the computer to view the pics, and I'd rather not spend more than $200 (preferably less). I don't use it that much, but I'm sure that I will be taking lots of pics for my wedding TR ;) ! I have had my Kodak Easy Share for about 5 years now, and it still works fine but I lost the disc and wires that came with it when I moved and have never been able to hook it up to the computer! I like how easy it is to use. I think it's time for something new!!! Any suggestions??? :thumbsup2
Gotta love how I come to this board for everything now :lmao: .......

I think it depends on what is most important to you in a camera. I really like Circuit City's web site for camera shopping. They have a a nice tool that helps you pic a camera based on what you want to do with it. They also have a nice comparison tool as well as customer reviews.

Anything over 7 megapixels is going to give you really nice photos. Do you already have a good sized memory card for your current camera? You may have to purchase another or look for a camera that takes the same type.
Take a look at these:

If you really like the camera you have you might try ebay or another website to see if you can just purchase the items you are missing.

I have a Sony Cybershot (I have an N-2 http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/N2/N2A.HTM absolutely love it. Its a little more than what you want to spend but its so easy. It has great zoom-- takes great photos, has a touch screen, and you just plug it right into the computer and the photos pop up due to the memory card. I love it.

However if you still like your old camera I agree-- try just getting the accessories that you lost off of ebay or somewhere.

GL!

the sony powershots are great.....also a good option are the Canon Powershots...I've had one for 3-4 years now and still love it.

I have that same camera. I really like it. You know you could just by a $20 card reader from anywhere and plug it into your USB port then download your pics from your Memory card.

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P73 and I love it! People alway comment on how great of pics it takes...even for only being 4.1 mega pixels! It is smaller, easy to use, with the computer too. Battery life is good, even movie mode is good! It uses a memory stick...I've had it a few years and last year we got DF's little brother the same camera, it is right around $200. Good value!

I have a Canon SD350 (I'm not sure on the number, but all the SD series are great) and I absolutely love it. It has a really large screen so you don't have to use a viewfinder and it has great features to do black and white and even has modes for taking good pictures on the beach, of fireworks, water, etc... I can't say enough good things about it! I took engagement pictures on the beach with it and the pictures came out amazing. One feature I really like about it is you can do black and white but then pick a color you want to show up with everything else black and white- it's really fun to do with flowers and stuff. :-) I have always had Canon's and they are really good quality cameras, hope this helps!!! :thumbsup2

I was talking to DBF's dad the other day about finding a new digital camera and he recommended exploring http://www.dpreview.com/ . He said they have extremely comprehensive reviews of different cameras, like pages of info! I haven't had the chance to really explore it yet, but thought I'd throw in my two cents for you! :cool1:

BTW Maggie after reading your post I went to check out the Sony Cybershot, and it does look awesome! I put that on my list of cameras to research. Thanks!

Thanks to all of you for your recommendations.....I thought about checking for the missing items on ebay, but I think I deserve a brandy new one! Besides, with my luck, I will get that stuff and then the thing will break on me!!!! I've been thinking more about it and I figure I've had it more than 5 years....
Thanks again!!!!! I have a little research to do! :thumbsup2

I just got a Sony cybershot camera for Christmas and absolutely love it! My last camera was a Kodak easyshare, and they are both require about the same level of skill to use, but the pictures are so much clearer on my cybershot. If you don't want to spend more then $200 then I would just get a newer easyshare, they are really good cameras. Just FYI, I lost my chord to hook my easyshare up to my computer and went to walmart and bought a new one, just ask the people in the photo department.

I have had a Kodak easy share for about 5 years now, and everything works great on it, However with so many weddings this year, and many more trips I will be taking this year I decided to upgrade cameras. I bought a Cannon Powershot SD800 IS and let me tell you, it is the best camera I have ever seen. It is as easy as the kodak, with several upgrades it can take picutres in color B&W or Sepa, it zooms about a mile away and is so clear it looks like your standing right there. If you want to spend less do not get the Cannon SD 800 but I recommend a Cannon Powershot of some kind.
