Dear Jess,
I know! My English teacher wouldn't let us watch the movie, so I watched it on YouTube. My parents thought that I would get nightmares from it, but I didn't. I didn't think that the rape scene was THAT bad anyway. I thought it'd be worse..
-Allison
Dear Allison,Dear Cassidy,
Would it be fine if I PM you?
-Allison
Dear Jess,Allison-
Really? We watched it in English. OMG. Seriously, it was amazing.
Kristen Stewart was....perfect.
Yeah, the rape scene wasn't that bad, I don't think they wanted to show too much of it.
Jess.
Dear Jess,
Yeah. My English class was the only class that didn't watch it. I loved Kristen's tone of voice. Like when she said "My English teacher has no face. I call her Hairwoman" her tone just sounds so Melinda-like. (if that makes any sense!) I have one question though:
(SPOILER: Did the tree that Melinda had to work on in art class have to do with the rape scene in the woods? I thought it did since like there were trees in the woods..Maybe not.)
-Allison
Dear Jess,Allison-
Yeah! She was like, perfect.
And (No, it had to do with the tree in her backyard that they cut down. Cause trees have to shed the bad stuff to regrow. Like, she has to get over the rape to get on with her life.)
Jess.
Dear Jess,
OHHHHHH. My teacher was kind of hinting towards that, but I wasn't sure. I hated Mr Neck..and Heather, too.
-Allison
Dear Jess,Allison-
Yeah, my teacher told us. xD
Ugh, me toooo!
Oh, and if you wanna know what happens after Speak, read Catalyst by the same author.
It isn't a Melinda story again, but it's based at the same school.
It's a sad story, and there is a little tiny bit in it about what happened to Melinda. Like, a sentence or two, but whatever.
But Catalyst itself is worth reading.
Jess.
Dear Jess,
We have the premium version of Speak, and the author was talking about that. Let me check if they have it at my school library.. Good, they do. I'll see if I can get it on Monday. People always think that I'm so weird because I actually *gasp* like reading.![]()
-Allison
Dear Jess,Allison-
Oh, same here.
Like, during lunch sometimes I go to the library. To actually get books.
People are shocked. haha
Jess.
Dear Jess,
It was worse on Thursday. I walked in to turn in a book and tons of older guys-seniors, I'm guessing-was like "oh look! a freshman!" and...your point is?Like they kept on staring at me. I turned the book back in. I wanted to check out another one, but they were right by the section I wanted to look at so I decided to just walk out. D:
