During the 2017 dining plan NO beverages of any kind were included unless management choose to.

Sorry, but you’re wrong. Beverages have always been included with meals.

Welll I never realised that non alcoholic drinks were included for any type of TS credits in 2017 so there on me.
Will look at my past receipts which I stuffed in a "don't bother me now" file for a future spreadsheet to see if I was charged or not.
Think I better look more clearly at the 2018 plan too as maybe my Drambuie will be included.

No, for the most part this is not true. We had a couple places offer us both.

DDP 2018 first week of January...3 adults, 2 teens...all credits pooled. If ordering an alcoholic beverage, you will pay out of pocket for additional drinks, alcoholic or not. Non-alcoholic smoothies are no refill drinks. Snacks, QS, & TS worked same as previous years except you can order an alcoholic drink now. Our experience, YMMV.

Kona Cafe: breakfast included mimosas, but not flights. Additional drink extra charge, ie. coffee with your mimosa
Raglon Road: dinner included any alcoholic beverage under $15, but not flights
The Wave: dinner, most alcoholic beverages, including those with glow cubes! Disney exclusive wine & flights are not included
Sanaa: lunch, beverage menu same as The Wave, most included. Not on menu, but for Potjie TS includes 2 journey selections if you want to try more than 1.

Tangierine Cafe: beer, wine, or sangria included
Be Our Guest: no alcohol & no substitutions for drink. Used snack credit for french onion soup.

Can I ask did you only have alcohol allowance for the adults on the plan (over 21’s) or did you have alcohol allowance for all the number of people with adult credits but only over 21’s could use them? Basically could you get the alcohol that your teens couldn’t drink?

A couple of them were the “special” drinks that I think were held over from the holidays. One alcoholic beverage per legal adult (21 and over). We did not attempt to purchase alcohol on the mornings we used the plan for breakfast, but I did witness a couple ahead of me in line at AKL (Mara) attempt to get bottled beer with their meal and were not able to. The CM said it was a “new” policy to not sell so early. Also, this particular location only had a beer assortment available..no other choices (wine cooler, etc.)

So, one alcoholic drink per legal adult, regardless of whether there are other underage adults on the dining plan? So, if you have 2 parents and 2 teenagers, they are only going to give you 2 alcoholic drinks even though the teenagers are also paying the same amount as adults on the dining plan? I think that is the gist of what many people trying to get multiple alcoholic drinks from the dining plan are trying to figure out...

That is what I was told when placing my order....1 drink for each person 21 and over. However, my son (23) was NEVER asked for ID. I did always have him in line with me (just in case).

There are not alcohol allowances; just QS & TS allowances. If someone over 21 orders a QS or TS meal, they may order an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage with that single meal allotment. Only one alcoholic beverage will be served per adult, so you can not order 2 alcoholic beverages if there is a teen & adult ordering meals. You can order 2 if there are 2 adults ordering meals and the kids are standing by hungry & without their own meals. Lol. They can snack on the nachos while you enjoy your magaritas. If the meal is clearly intended for someone under 21, they will not allow alcohol to be ordered.

Well, not really. If you use a TS credit for breakfast (and the old QS plan too), you don't get the dessert part of the credit. If you use a DxDDP credit for a QS meal, you lose the app and dessert. This isn't much different from that. It's all a matter of choices.

This is exactly what I had planned...we don’t plan on using many QS for breakfast, but the dining plan wording specifically says an entree and one non-alcoholic or alcoholic drink (for those over 21) are included for breakfast, QS or TS. I definitely planned on using my refillable mug for coffee and a beer for enjoying later on the balcony!

We've been here for two days now and we have the DDP for two adults and we're both 21+. We've eaten at Sunshine Seasons, Pecos Bill's, Chefs de France, and Restaurant Marrakesh while getting snacks for breakfast. At each table service restaurant we were told what was available for alcohol, it was pretty clear. We've had no issues with it so far. If you like dry red wine, do yourself a favor and get the house Moroccan red at Marrakesh, it's delicious. Went well with my beef shish kebab and my spouse's lamb shank.

Thank you! That confirms I'll do Kona breakfast as my OOP TS meal (because of the Disney on Broadway concert series meal being 2 credits I'm one TS over).

Regarding the BOG QS... Was alcohol ever included with breakfast or lunch? I thought the alcohol there was only at dinner?

I also wonder if Blue Laws (not being able to sell beer and/or wine and/or liquor before a certain hour on Sunday) have something to do with morning availability. It may be easier to just have a "not before this time period" rule in place than make CMs remember what day it is.

I'm still waiting for confirmation that kids and adults qs credits are pooled. Too late for my upcoming trip but thinking of an extended family trip later this year. If they are still pooled, is there anything stopping an adult using a kids credit and getting a beer at qs? As long as they are present and have ID of course.

I was wondering the same thing, so I did a quick search...

Osceola County allows you to buy alcohol beginning at 7 am, Monday thru Saturday. On Sundays, sales begin at 9 am at liquor stores, gas stations, and supermarkets, and 11 am at bars and restaurants.

In Orange County, you can purchase alcohol in liquor stores, gas stations, and supermarkets starting at 9 am, 7 days a week. In bars and restaurants, sales begin at 11 am.

From what I've read, most of Disney World falls under Orange County (I'm not 100% on this, so please correct me if I'm wrong), so maybe that's why people are having trouble getting alcohol early?
